Well hello good souls of forum, its one of my suggestion topics anyway without bothering you with nonsense lets go this will be just like my old squad suggestion .

THE SQUAD

Teishin Shudan" (挺進集団)(recycled from my Japanese Paratroopers topic)(2nd brigade)

Teishin unit was Japanese Special/airborne unit of IJAA(Imperial Japanese Army Air force)
The unit was formed in late 30s but it didn’t receive much attention until after 1940s blitzkrieg and successful use of paratrooper by Germans.
This unit fell under the command of the Army Aviation Headquarters, and initially they had 2 Brigade of paratrooper.

We will use the 2nd brigade which was the one to fight to saw airborne combat.
A brief history of it.
Organized as part of the Teishin Shudan, the 2nd Raiding Brigade was formed in 1941. The brigade was trained in Takachiho, Miyazaki on the island of Kyushu, and later took its name from the town. The unit was divided into two regiments, the 1st and 2nd regiment, each numbering around 700 men. Counting ground support, logistics companies, and pilots, the brigade had around 2475 men. During combat operations later in the war, the brigade was divided into four regiments.

In February 1942 the brigade was dropped over and captured a Dutch oil refinery in Pelembang, using captured Lockheed Hudsons with Royal Air Forcemarkings for deception. A small drop was conducted over Timor later that year, but 2nd Brigade saw no further action until late 1944.

During the Philippines campaign, the 2nd Raiding Brigade was deployed to Luzon in the Japanese-occupied Philippines to reinforce the islands’ garrison (American forces had landed on nearby Leyte in late October) while the rest of the Raiding Group remained in Japan. On Luzon, the brigade was ordered to conduct operations against small airstrips on Leyte under American control; these airstrips were being used to project American air superiority over Leyte and as a staging ground for American attacks on convoys carrying Japanese reinforcements. Japanese commanders hoped that, by launching paratrooper attacks on the airstrips, sufficient numbers of American planes could be destroyed on the ground to halt the American advance and to allow for reinforcements to be safely sent to Leyte

In the attack that followed, the brigade suffered heavy casualties. Most transports made it to their designated drop zones, but 18 out of 35 aircraft were subsequently shot down or crashed, and the heavy anti-aircraft fire encountered led to confused pilots dropping their troopers over the wrong targets. The attacking paratroopers did some damage, but many were cut down by American anti-aircraft fire

After the defeat on Leyte, the brigade was scattered across numerous islands. Around 500 men remained on Luzon, fighting with the island’s garrison until the end of the war, with 80 men surviving

BTW Insignia is genuine

Type 100 Paratrooper with bipod

I’m sure you are fimmiliar with type 100 and the paratrooper variant but as most of us know during development of type 100 the bipod was dropped .

So what is this? well it is bipod , the source doesn’t mention what this bipod is but from the image itself it seems a clamp type bipod which makes sense that Japan would make for the SMG since they made bipods for rifles also there is a clamp type bipod that can be seen in type 92 MG which is kept at Australian museum

Clothing

Here

warning : clothes might have not historically been used by this unit but I tried to make them look as close to the image below (From battle of palembang which 2nd brigade participated)

First lets try to get everything right lets start with shoes the soldier doesn’t wear any Puttee and by the look of the thing he seems to be wearing half flying boots
image
based on collar he is wearing summer flying suit most likely in green to match the vegetation (Olive color which I couldn’t find but there was winter flying suit in Olive which Imma put here just for reference)

He is wearing type 1 bandolier which was common to use when paradropping(Most likely olive to match his clothes)
image

Our soldier also wearing gloves which would probably be Summer aviation gloves (Most likely brown/olive to match)
image
Lastly we get to headgear which is just summer flying headgear which is opened

Also he is covering himself in vegetation so yeah if you cant imagine what this would have look like(General color scheme) I ask you to check the illustration below
image
The soldier in the image does not wear the jump suit (The suit with bottoms in illustration above I assume he got rid of it during landing , I assume they were meant to be that way)

Thank you for you attention Its 2.30 AM imma go sleep also The illustration is from Japanese military uniforms 1930-45 oh and let me know what you think.

(I’m doing a huge Romanian sub-faction suggestion stay tuned for that)

Excellent suggestion!
It would be great to see Japanese paratroopers with their unique weapons.

In fact Iam amazad how DF already assaigned every paratrooper weapon to non paratrooper units. A sign of complete lack of planning as if they themselves didn’t think the game would get this far.

BTW, good night man, but by the time you read this, it will be morning.
