A way to prevent vehicle cycling

Vehicle cyclers, the thing a LOT of players hate. I love seeing them since they tend to do it to make up for some form of skill issue, but only on the opposing side. ESPECIALLY if we’re attacking they end up draining basically all of our tickets and not to mention usually contributing little to no work to help on the point, instead caring only for their precious K/D.

Now what if there was a form of universal vehicle cooldown (per player of course). So say a player just brought in Tank A, and later Tank A dies. With vehicle cyclers, they’d just bring out Tank B, but what if Tank B was on a cooldown of something like 1-3 minutes, possibly any plane squads they have with them also being looped into this a bit with a lower or the same cooldown? This could possibly discourage people cycling through vehicles and cause more players to have to get out infantry.

Also add some sort of cost to spawning vehicles like in Ground RB in War Thunder, as well as a way for planes to leave the battlefield without draining tickets pls.

I agree I don’t want to waste a good plane because there are no air targets anymore or I am more needed on the ground.

I thought all sections cost the same amount, 7, so any Tank or Plane, or Infantry section was just 7 tickets ?

One potential problem with this of course is people might leave the game if they cant use there next preferred unit.

Also, I dont care for forcing players to play the game the way you want them to, I generally dont need to cycle through vehicles, or want to as the daily challenges keep me doing things other than vehicles mostly .

But I dont want to cock block someone who likes his tanks, in the end it’s just another tank who is in it really doesn’t mater all that much.

What about a limited number of times each player can spawn a certain vehicle? Isn’t that better than just an cooldown?

I completely agree. This game is a sandbox so I don’t really see a point in restricting vehicles. I think the current system is fine as is.

Vehicle cycling is bad, but spamming 3 assaulters squad is fine.

I’d like to see an option to have your plane leave at the resupply point (tanks too honestly while we’re at it) so you can respawn as a different squad without dying. Maybe penalize you if your plane gets destroyed instead of leaving after a bombing run.

Yes. Tank gets stuck, is totally shot up and you only have 1 living person (meaning you have to switch between driver and gunner) while the point has been capped. You get bored as pilot and don’t have a meaningful way to contribute, etc. Which I think is totally fine.

Can confirm, I have literally pressed the suicide button so many times while in my plane just so I can get on the ground faster than waiting to get shot down or waiting to fall to my death

As it is right now there is already a limit of vehicle spawns per player, they need to spawn as another squad type for a few respawns.

And while I understand your frustrations, I think that further restrictions to vehicles would end in even more frustrating situations where your team needs tank or plane support to overcome different obstacles, but can get it because other players aren’t aware or caring enough to provide it, and you get hit with a random restriction that bars you from filling the role.

I think that if anything improving the capacity of infantry to deal with tanks at longer ranges would help a lot to reduce the frustrations of people muss using tanks or abusing the gray zone.

Those are things like having some sort of shared AT gun slot for non engineer squads, that would give players the ability to deal with armor in the gray zone, but lacking the HE shells so it ain’t good against infantry. And buffing AT rifles so they get their place at incapacitating and killing tanks. Also having dedicated AT grenades for rifle grenade launchers would be great

Yes, as seen in the mod editor and program code, all types of squads currently cost the same.

It s controlled by team_squadSpawnCosts config and has a hard-to-understand calculation formula related to the number of players and the capture point sector.

I have always strongly suggested that the development team can improve the mechanism of this spawnCost in the future, And allows players to bring more squads into the battle, but you can’t deploy these squads or vehicles at will, which will greatly benefit the battle to enrich the battlefield.

But I am casual about the arcade mode. Many players don’t like to be restricted. Then you will continue to see the above situations in the game, such as suicide aircraft missiles, which cannot be effectively dealt with. Maybe make a CSGO mode with only infantry. To satisfy these arcade players, oh, but that would make the game lose its character and competitiveness.

But I still hope they can improve such a mechanism in the mod editor, or introduce a special mode to implement such a mechanism
