I’m on Xbox, and have a commonly occurring issue where a teammate goes through and breaks down everything I put up with my engineers. I understand that there are times that teammates block off areas they shouldn’t and it needs to be taken down, but this is ridiculous. I only build defenses where it will help the team:
-barbwire from side enemy is on
-sandbags across open stretches so our guys can cross better from rally point
-sandbags in windows that snipers or tanks are devastating us through
sandbags in tall windows with a platform behind them so you can still shoot over them
-ammo boxes in MG/ sniper nests or areas with lots of fighting.
-tank blockers on flanks with AT mines in the gap. Our guys can get through but the enemy can’t.
ALL of these keep getting taken down by teammates, and even once in a while they will follow me around and break whatever I just put up.
—My SUGGESTION:
When a teammate breaks your structures, make a note of it in the feed “teammatex deconstructed friendly (sandbags, barbed wire, ammo box, etc).”
After they break down like 5, allow the option to “vote to kick”. If the team agrees, they are removed.
There have been numerous times that trolls like these have cost us the game. There needs to be some way of dealing with them.
Xplayer put barbed wire around spawn spot. PoorPlayer removes it all.
Xplayer calls vote to kick PoorPlayer. Vote success (Can’t be unsuccess, check Custom Rooms and their votes).
So… Barbed wire shouldn’t count.
The very nature of this game is going to attract some of the more juvenile players out there, I mean seriously if players can’t stand waiting more than 30 seconds before they rearm their aircraft there’s got to be some sort of age limits to rationale here, I understand that players can be extremely annoying at times but this game is going to attract more of those kinds of players then more serious games like postscriptum, It just comes with the territory
I only dismantle engineer structures on those that are unnecessary like do not build sandbags, barbed wire or tank traps our paths to the objective and also do not intentionally try to trap the bots at the rally point with sandbags as that would slow things down for not just the squad but also the whole team.
If I see barbwire / sandbags placed in windows / doorways that the enemies will most likely being pouring in from I will tear them down. Why?
A) I want to be able to push out in front of cap to engage the enemy and be able to return when I need, and I want to be able to do this as quickly / easily as possible.
B) I want to be able to shoot from windows / doorways.
If I see a teammate placing barbwire / sandbags on windows / doorways that are facing where WE spawn I will just leave the match. No point in sticking around with such idiotic self sabotaging behavior.
So, let me get this right:
Basically you are saying that fortifying an area is wrong, and you should always be on the move? Sounds like you are thinking of the wrong game.
Also it blocks blasts from artillery and aircraft. Otherwise anyone near that window is usually screwed.
Let’s also not forget it stops flamethrowers.
I usually only put them up in widows to block off enemy lanes of fire that would be detrimental.
Also worth noting:
In the cases of areas that are good for defenders to shoot from, I usually leave a small gap between sandbags for the express purpose of shooting from good cover. At that point it REQUIRES a sniper to kill you.
