I do believe there is one theatre of world war 2 that has been severely lacking and possibly even suppressed somewhat except for a single relatively recent yet old single player series that has no multiplayer(in the recent games), the name of which I probably don’t need to mention for everyone to already know what I am talking about(wolfenstein).
A 1946-50 campaign solely focused on a “what if” scenario. It doesn’t even necessarily have to be super historical, but it would certainly fit in with the current style of gameplay and would go nicely with a complement of existing and new assets that would fit in with the theme. Allow me to explain and come up with a hypothetical scenario to the best of my ability, if you please.
Scenario: 1946, The New Offensive
Factions: Combined Allied and Commintern Reserve and Homeland Defense (Brits, Aussies, US Marines and Army, and Soviets all together) vs Combined Axis Forces(Germany, Japan, Italy)
Maps: Vladivostok, Cheyenne Mountain, New York city and or Washington DC, London
Starting(reserve) Weapons: MP40 vs Thompson, Garand vs G43, panther vs T34 85e and or KV85/Easy 8,
Tanks or other possible implements: E series tanks vs immediate next generation Allied tanks or things like the T29/95, Maus, Soviet experimentals, Japanese superheavy OI tank, or even utilize mechs
There are so many unique experimental planes that could find a home in a scenario like this I don’t even need to mention them all
Unique possible features:
- A “futuristic wwii setting” with mechs and exoskeleton infantry and ufos, or take on a more “historical” approach, or even a combination of the two.
- A “steal secret research scenario” in either London or Cheyenne Mountain, which would be like a king of the hill scenario where someone has to hack a computer then find a secret vault that could be in several random locations on the map or something like that
It could make use of the existing mech and cool space uniforms from the april fools events and find a permanent yet fitting home for them, for everyone to keep enjoying.
Something like this would set this game apart from anything out there right now in the WWII multiplayer scene, and give much more creative freedom in map and unit design for the devs, and open up a new avenue in WWII multiplayer gaming. We already have lots of prototype stuff, why not take us all the way without holding back in an appropriate avenue that just about everyone would enjoy?
This also has the benefit of keeping Enlisted focused on WWII in general and
I welcome any and all constructive criticisms and supplemental suggestions.
