A suggestion to fix grey zone camping

There has been way too many times I’ve lost a game to grey zone campers and I might have a solution to fix it. When a tank is shooting in the grey zone after 3 shoots make it so that the HE rounds has the same blast radius as AP shells. This way it will force tanks to get out of the grey zone and into the play zone to actually be able to do some damage. But the thing is that many maps in the game force tankers to grey zone camp; for example D-day the map is god awful for tankers unless they grey one camp because getting close will result in immediate death. That’s why in my opinion we should remake these maps and make it easier for tankers to move around as well as limiting the destructive capabilities when tanks are in the grey zone.

I’d like to see the grey zone removed entirely. Do what War Thunder did and make players visible on the map if they are close to the spawn point.

I also think a defending team should know which point they are to defend next so they can start building defences earlier. In a real battle one would know where to fall back to next and also these would have pre-prepared defensive positions.

In the future there will be an event in which greyzones are completely removed, to test and see possible changes to greyzones.

I think they’re necessary, and there is an absolute counter to gray zone campers. That being said, neutering those who purposefully camp in the gray zone isn’t the worst idea

I’m gonna turn that thing into a fort so impenetrable and cancerous that no one will step foot in it
Instead, give it a ~60 second lock down as well as a delay in the gray zone advancing, can be adjusted as needed for gameplay loop/balance, after the first one is captured like the Confrontation gamemode. This allows defenders to properly get on the next objective, preventing speed captures, and gives a small window of time to possibly build some defenses

Bad idea :-1: Greyzone is neccessary to prevent spawn-camping.

That would be very nice to see. Kinda cool that they’re using events to test things.

Anything to give some more preparation time. Sometimes by the time you spawn in and run to the objective there’s enemies already on the point. I get the gameplay reasons for this but it can make some games short and unenjoyable. As someone who enjoys military tactics and also support/engineer gameplay it can be frustrating.

You got any idea how much I’d love to just dig a trench from spawn to objective? But I can’t simply because the game moves too fast. I seriously do think we need higher ticket counts and longer capture times

seelow heights gives example of how bad no gray zone can be.

better solution would be to give 2 vehicle slots to all players.

no thanks. you would just get cancerous amount of defenses that were meant to be build outside, built inside the building. no to mention loads of mines.

I agree to remove the gray
In this way, those monkeys will be beaten at the respawn point (or vice versa)
They can’t even walk 10 meters

The best part is
We will usher in the era of ultra-long-range strikes
Are you ready to get pissed off by those idiot snipers and monkeys hiding 300 meters away?
Don’t forget your blood pressure medicine
Because the official will not be responsible for your health

All you want is an even fightbut
but
Reality is often extreme

Maybe you should predict the direction and evaluate when to invest in troops and defense again
But I guess your teammates probably don’t have any defensive knowledge
They just move forward and get killed

I’ve done that before, yes. Especially on the ones where there is literally only one option the next objective can be

Nice to hear.
But I hope devs won’t simply remove it and call it a day and will add some other anti-spawnkill mechanics.
(Though I guess that’s exactly what they will do. Then it will spectacularly backfire and devs will boast about listening to the playerbase by doing a half assed job.)

Thats good news. Curious why that poll is only RU and not also on forums

Also alt history option…uh oh…it starts

there could be a grey zone for tanks but not for infantry.

not too helpful when BR5 nazi tanks are borderline OP (especially the tiger II with the flat turret face). There’s something weirdly ironic about russian heavy tanks (IS2, IS2-1944) being less armored than nazi medium tanks (panther), and also having less penetration at a slower reload rate. And also less ammo too i’m pretty sure.

the nazis made the turret of the panther from 3642 layers of steel internally folded in weird angles so that it could completely negate volumetric shells in a video game that features it 80 years later. They’ve been playing the long game all this time.

I don’t know what you want to say
I think tank armor and ammunition capacity have nothing to do with predictive defense

Simply removing the gray zone is a hasty decision and will cause the attacker’s tanks to be spawn camped by the defender infantry who are unwilling to retreat.
Every player in the game is focused on their own attack, and no one has time to cover friendly tanks, remove gray zone will only cause the tanks to hide further behind.
