A suggestion only the insane will deny: Full squad size at all times

New players don’t have full squads.

They should.

They really should.

They start with less than max of even non-upgraded squads, and then they have to get more troops once they do squad size upgrades.

So, to counter this?

All squads should spawn with their potential upgraded maximum fill of troops armed with a medkit, a starter rifle, a knife, and a dream, and Squad size upgrades will allow for customization and inserting personally owned troops. Change the name from “Squad size upgrade” to “Authority Upgrade” to fit the flavor of the game.

Now new players or players switching from their main campaign to campaigns they need to do for daily missions won’t be as active of a hinderance since they’ll have resources to throw around to actually grind up and unlock their full potential, instead of being mowed down by the last survivor of an SMG squad that happened to survive an offensive cap point arty call. More boots on the ground, more fun, more chances. No campaign will suffer from this change. This won’t magically allow zerg tactics in our WWII “war is hell” simulator.

(Maybe also give engineer squad as starter squad instead of sniper but that’s a side point and too late to fix, rally points are an important skill to learn early on instead of teaching new players to hang back and pick off one troop when 30 are running around them. Maybe next campaign.)

Hell here i am thinking of adding a new squad and class that would only have 2 people.

Ill make a post someday about it

Oh yeah, that campaign exists.

Maybe yeah for other campaigns.

I’d have to agree. In the past year or so I’ve been playing, it seems the devs really do want this game to be as accessible as possible to new players with every update. I’d say maybe not giving them a FULL squad, but definitely more than minimum, i.e. 5/7 or 7/9 or something. Especially with unlocking squads at higher campaign levels when it takes 12k to earn 1 upgrade point.

I keep all my squads as basically small as I can, four or five players at the most, even my motorbike squad I keep it just two players .

I do have a few larger squads but at least half of them just die to the Enemy because they’re stupid.

Supposedly every squad regardless of how large it is is seven tickets I don’t know if that’s true or not, like I don’t know if tanks and planes are seven for example.

I like the smaller squads because they’re easier to manage and I don’t feel like I’m just giving the enemy a bunch of free kills

Having any more soldiers than the absolute minimum is pointless unless they are all 5 stars with fully upgraded automatic weapons. You won’t be helping newbies by giving them full squads of worthless dummies, you’ll only be helping veterans to farm more points.

It’s not consistent across every campaign and map, and faction.

The devs are always changing them so it’s hard to keep track of.
