A solution for the CAS problem

I think in order to counter the problem with CAS domination, we could add the 320th Barrage Balloon Battalion. They could deploy barrage balloons which would distract pilots, of kill them by making a “U” shape and trapping them. This would make being a CAS pilot a little more difficult so that it isn’t just free kills with no resistance.

There’s no “CAS domination”.

Whenever I play Enlisted, the objective is under constant bombardment and no matter how many planes we shoot down, more come back. So yeah, I’d say CAS is a bit of a problem.

You don’t know how plane respawn do you. If you shot down a plane, a other player will take his place and that the cycle. And there many maps where planes are useless like tractor factory

You gave one example of a map where planes are useless, that doesn’t mean CAS is overpowered at times. The barrage balloon squad could allow you to funnel enemy CAS through a specific location where you have AA guns set up.

That won’t work because plane can easily be counter by good pilot,AA gun or just someone who shoot the plane passing by

But those are all active defense methods, what I am proposing is a squad that can deploy passive defenses; like barbed wire in the sky.

This image could be what that might look like, you place 2 balloons maybe 10 meters apart and this cable net deploys between them.

Well no, if you have the premium that definitely is not P2W but pay-to-progress as some people say.
You can rotate planes constantly, as long as you dont suicide.

I think it was during campaigns pre-merge when people last time mentioned soviet cas IL2 to be exact as a problem.
And german CAS was probably problem ~3 years ago, when bombs used to be mini-nukes.

This is more about tagging a plane to get the credit whenever the pilot inevitably either crashes due to his own ineptitude or wants to switch a squad, rather than an effective tactic of eliminating them. Unless you do it with a PTR, that will actually work.

Havent tried the AT rifles at BR5 does it work there too ?
At low BR’s due to planes being made of paper & by far slower speed the regular AA does quite well.

Works fine. PLanes dont really get tougher with BR… Some are because of what they are

At Rifle rounds look like they do more damage than 20mm rounds (on stats page, checks out if you shoot at infantry with a AT rifle and a 20mm)

IL 2 at BR 2 is amongst the toughest

idk, at BR2 few direct hits seems to take out majority of planes, IL2 flying tank being exception as you mentioned.
While at BR5 more than few times shot got several hits but no kill.
Anyway, as said idk could be speed as well, much easier to even score pilot hits at low BR due to planes being by far slower.

I snipe pilot with winchester and it not that hard when you pratice a little bit

Again like I said, that’s an active defense solution, I’m proposing a passive defense solution.

Depends on the definition of domination.
CAS cycling can pose an irreversible threat to the enemy team in those “make good use of game mechanics”.

Congrats on your skill

but a little bit of practice is understating the amount of training or raw skill it would require for 99% of players to actually do such a thing, especially beyond BR I, when armoured cockpits become a thing on planes that zoom by in a second.
