It is extremely confusing in-game right now when people call airstrikes. It is very hard to know if an airstrike called is from your team or from the enemy, because friendly and enemy airstrikes look exactly the same on the minimap. This is very annoying. For instance, sometimes I give up building a rally point in a place because there is a red-dot warning on the map, just to find out a few minutes later that it was a friendly airstrike and the caution was all for nothing.
And no, the little audio messages don’t count, because the airstrikes take a long time to drop and nobody remembers the message 2 and a half minutes later, if one was even paying attention to notice the message in the first place.
Therefore, I propose a solution. Now, you can’t do stuff like mark friendly airstrikes with a blue dot, that would look horrendous, but there is something that would do the job and be visually-friendly and not harm the game’s ui: add a thin blue line around the circles for friendly airstrikes. That would fix all the confusion.
Here is a visual depiction of what I’m talking about and suggesting:
Of course, enemy airstrikes will not display that line, making it possible to tell them apart from friendly ones.
you could also just recognize bombing patterns, looking up at the sky after a minute or 2 , or the audio cue (the game will tell you if enemy bombers are coming, not with friendly) though more signals wouldn’t hurt
I think the most idiotic part is that friendly bombing runs are safe. Devs being coy about the whole thing, as if it’s not intended to be the best time to occupy the soon to be bombed territory, is just an icing on the proverbial cake.
friendly bombing runs are safe cus it’s a way to make advantage for people to advance and try to halt enemy advancing at same time, not just for the kill, after all this is point capture game.
like ricky said audio cue or looking up, and yeah wouldn’t hurt if there are more signals.
If there is no damage from friendly fire bombardments, why even indicate the strike zone??? Remove the friendly fire strike zone indicator alltogether.
There! Solved it for you
IMHO, bombing runs need improving, and I think they should do friendly fire, at least 25%.
In my experience bombing runs don’t do that. What they do is give free farm to one player while denying the rest of his team any off-map support for several minutes, all of that culminating in a moronic rush under your team’s bombs to try and take positions you didn’t earn.
