Hey fellas. I’ve been a lurker on these forums for a while and have been playing Enlisted since October 2021.
I love this game, and with the new roadmap, I am optimistic about the future of this game.
However, there is a problem that I feel has been overlooked.
It is cross-progression.
I believe that Enlisted can be improved by simply adding it.
I’ll start by giving a personal example. I play Enlisted on PS4. I have rewards that I got from events and twitch drops. However, I got a gaming PC now, and I always wanted to play Enlisted on that, due to the game running better on PC. Plus, I always wanted to use the mod editor.
There is only one problem. For some reason, there is no cross-progression. If I wanted to start playing Enlisted on PC, I would have to start everything over from scratch. Since I am Level 20 on both sides of Normandy, and over level 10 on both sides of all campaigns, this is a deal breaker for me. I don’t want to start over from scratch and have to grind everything all over again.
“Well it’s so Gaijin and Darkflow can make more money” I hear some of you asking. To that, I say, “Gaijin is more likey going to lose money doing this than gain.” Think about it. If you were told that all of the efforts you have put into grinding a campaign was all for nothing and you had to do it all over again, A normal person would simply cut their losses and move on. This means that Enlisted would lose a player, and with it, a potential source of revenue.
I believe that by adding cross-progression, Gaijin, and Darkflow can retain players. Think about it. If a player is able to transfer their progress, from PS4 to PC for example, They would feel grateful to both Gaijin and Darkflow for allowing them to keep their progress. This means they could potentially feel more inclined to repay the favor, such as by buying gold or a premium squad for example.
To support my position further, Warthunder allows you do transfer your progress from console to PC. Even this very forum gives you the option to log in using a Playstation Network, or an Xbox Live account.
So, what is stopping Darkflow or Gaijin from simply adding the option on the game launcher on PC to have a “Log in using Playstation Network” or “Log in using Xbox Live” when you boot it up? It sounds like a no-brainer. A player gets to keep their account, with all of the progress they achieved, plus all of the twitch drops, event rewards, and soldiers that they got from over the years. ( I know that the names are randomly generated, and I honestly grew to love the soldiers that I got over the years. I’ve gotten names like Hanns Von Schweppensburg and Zelaus Kuntz.)
Even the forums have the option to log in using either a PlayStation Network or Xbox Live account, and Warthunder has the option to use a Playstation Network or Xbox Live account. I ask you this. “What is stopping Enlisted from adding this small, yet so potentially useful feature?”
I also belive that this would benefit Darkflow and Gaijin in the long run. Let’s face it. PS4 and Xbox One are getting old. (They are both going to be 10 years old this year!). By adding cross-progression, Darkflow, and Gaijin will have an “out” so to speak. By simply saying “Hey, you can transfer your progress from console to PC”, they would have the ability to move on from PS4 and Xbox One in the future. By doing this, not only will Darkflow and Gaijin be able to retain some of the players that started on PS4 and Xbox One, the player base can be kept high, as all of those players that would have left due to not being able to move their progress would have a higher chance of staying due to the Cross-Progression system.
The final point in my position is that we already have cross-progression on the consoles. A PS4 player can transfer their progress to the PS5 version, and last I checked a Xbox One player can transfer their progress to the Xbox Series X/S version. (I could be wrong, I don’t have an Xbox One. Please correct me if I am wrong.) So what is stopping Darkflow and Gaijin from adding a option to log in using a Playstation Network or Xbox Live account on the launcher? The infrastructure for cross-progression is likey already there, so why not add it? There are nothing but positives and benefits for adding cross-progression.
I hope you have a wonderful day, and will take my suggestion into account. I truly belive there are nothing but positives for adding cross-progression.
