There are many players for these regions, at least for Chinese I know there are at several thousands of them. More than hundreds of them contributed huge amount of money to this game’s earning.
Many can not speak English or Russian, so their suggestions can not be properly received by developers.
Sometimes we see people writing in Chinese or other languages in the english/russian section, causing a lot of issues: english speakers can’t read them, feel irritated, and that people feels being discrinminated.
Related players can’t always receive the correct game update information ontime, causing disbelief and rumors in the community.
For these reasons, I think it is adequate to add a Chinese (or perhaps with more language inclusiveness) section into the forum.
P.S. seems there is a Chinese mod? Then it feels stranger for me that there isn’t a Chinese section?
which, sounds an exscuses to not use some sort of translator at all.
and you expect devs to check both the russian, the english, AND this sort of chinese community?
do you have any idea the ammount of work that they would have to go through just to collect feedbacks and what not?
hence, the current sections works just nicely.
( i though having the russian segregrated community is not “helpful” in the sense that it divides even more and does not sound alot like a " community ". but i understand the implications, and gaijin is russian so. fine for me )
that that’s how we drawed the line. as it get hectic already.
because using a translator is an issue?
i mean, i’m sorry. but it’s quite egoistic to speak another lenguage in the section where’s there’s written " english on it "
not as an insult, but as a form of respect.
i personally often use translators if i need to. but i don’t see why those people do not.
don’t you guys have your own enlisted with forums on it as well?
not really.
and, from what we can recall, you weren’t the nicest one either. maybe you relaxed a bit which it’s a good thing. but yeah.
we often hates the ones who reminds our self. is it not?
beside, not going to be personal and what not,
but it simply cannot be done.
because if, for one reason or another, a chinese community gets added, then we’ll get other people asking for their own community of speaking x or y.
which it’s far from ideal. as it would require more people involved to moderate, type, and what not.
hence that’s why it’s more convinient for everyone if it’s just in english or russian.
P.s there is no need to divide even more this community that is somewhat already divided.
it wouldn’t serve any beneficial purposes
we also have german and italian mods. does that mean we need a german or italian forum section? no.
game has separate version for china, with its own community and censorship. chinese players werent targeted audience for outside great firewall of china version of the game.
even though there are lots of chinese players, there are more french, german, spanish and italian players. we cant have forum sections and mods for every language.
even russian is exception cause of devs/publisher. if they werent russian, you wouldnt even see russian section of the forum…
Just finishing a match, now is the time to examine your arguments. Though thank you for such long comments, but:
1." forum is not like bathrooms" Yes of course it is not, it is a game. A game company supposedly should be caring about its player base. Since there are so many Chinese at the moment (not simply those with Chinese nicknames), if the game does care about its players’ reflection, then it is adequate to add a Chinese section. Or else, just like your logic goes, there should not be an English section either.
2.“Devs cant check all those sections.” Well, it should be the work for Chinese mod then. Denying the existence of contradiction is much worse than costing a bit more to solve the problem.
3. “why not use translators?” The question should be why there isn’t a Chinese section. Why do the customers need to serve the company that supposedly should provide related services?
4. “don’t you guys have your own forum?” That one is not official by all means. It is just like a Reddit forum, not official, nor useful in my opinion.
5. “Dividing the community” How can the community be divided if most Chinese players aren’t even on the forum? It is a matter of inclusiveness not a matter of division.
Completely unrealistic demand, there’s not even asian server ingame. Its pretty egoistic to think that chinese is third biggest group to deserve its own forum section.
Just use a translator, like everyone else does. Or do you think that we all speak English as the main language?
I, for example, speak Spanish (which by the way is one of the most common languages in the world and I don’t post asking for separate forums). But I know that many others speak Italian, German, French, etc.
It’s not that hard to learn English anyway, and it’s useful.
Is there so much difference in nature between English and Chinese? Given that both are having a huge number of speakers, which is also the case in the game? If the game wants to incorporate a significant amount of its players into its feedback base then it should do so.
@65984420
no we don’t have to create a section especially for Chinese users, frankly the excuse of “they don’t know English” no longer attacks in 2023 with tons of applications and translators, is it annoying to use them? then also the victimhood that is being created because idiot n1 is afraid in a video game of a guy with a name in ideograms and treats him badly really justifies creating a special section of the forum only for Chinese users? and why not do it for every linguistic minority then? why not do it? because locking ourselves in our beautiful virtual enclosures is easier but not the solution, asking for greater compliance with the rules and helping to enforce them is the solution.
you are not reading. devs have already released enlisted for chinese market. it is separate version from international release. there they have chinese forum and mods that provide feedback to devs.
the point is, the english section is one of the most spoken across the globe.
( especially if we consider the influences and what not ).
which, i don’t think the entirety of enlisted is MAINLY chinese. nor the majority.
even though china is one the biggest country.
i can’t disprove your point as you cannot disprove mine because we do not know for certain.
( matter of fact, you haven’t really shown much beside the " trust me bro " which i don’t blain, since as we can’t prove it ).
but again, if you truly care about this game and want your opinion to be heard, you should adapt to the “issues” or " language barrier " with a translator. not the game adapt to you.
IF the issue was that the chinese ( just like oceanian people or aussies friends, ) don’t have server/region to play. then you have all my support and deserve to have a dedicated region game server to aid and improve the experience.
but on the forum, as i said, it’s just needles…
so you’re implying that our mods are able to check both the russian and the english section ?
they do their best, and do what they can.
we have 10 staffers ( probably more unrmarked ) but making all that work on those individuals is less then effective nor beneficial for those who are involved. let alone divide them into three sections.
hence, that’s way better if it’s in english and russian. so they them selves only have to translate it once. instead of twice or perhaps even three times. ( such as, translating in one language, then translate it in it’s own laguage to understand, and then perhaps having to send it at the devs in russian ).
which translations between language often causes issues because of different meanings with similar words )
it’s not easy, and it’s just an huge hussle.
and where have you readed that?
i can guarantee you not everyone does it ( nor should ).
after all, you are the customer going directly at the specific company.
going " full karen " with expectation might not always get you what you wanr.
how is dividing the playerbase and create a own " place / section " inclusive at all.
h o w.
you are just diverting man power and people, and even the flow of the work behind it.
it’s not night and day. otherwise we would have each and singular language specific related section. but we do not. and there’s a reason for it.
Correct me if i’m wrong, but there’s already a chinese version of enlisted. It’s that not enough? Maybe chinese players should do feedbacks about chinese enlisted and use the chinese forums from that game version. That’s why it exist, right?
Lol, isn’t much latency to go East EU? You think Asia as the largest continent in the world are having same latency from every place? You can reach 200 ping in many places in Asia lol.
“most spoken across the globe” doesn’t really matter, if there is a significant amount of Chinese players for the game.
“Mainly Chinese”, why is it so necessary to be the majority? If the amount of Chinese is of some 20 percent or more etc, for me it is already of much value to add a Chinese section. Just like you say, we can not disprove the other’s argument. But I will give you some information, which might be a hint.
taken on the day 2022/ June 30th end of equal fight event. No.4 (me), 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 19, 23, and 25 are Chinese whom I know. No.11 not sure if he speaks Chinese or not. Not counting him already there is 32% of Chinese there.
I do have more screenshots.
Also see this, the Chinese forum you are talking about: enlisted吧-百度贴吧–Gaijin发行的FPS游戏–要真实,从军去Gaijin发行的FPS游戏,游戏属于二战题材,采用多人组队机制。采用Gaijin Entertainment的Dagor引擎 (bdimg.com)
already have 14000+ subscribers and 300,000 posts.
“Asian Server etc.” Thank you for supporting that, but still I will continue with the forum issue.
4.“how is dividing the playerbase and create a own… inclusive?” How to talk about dividing a space if many people are not in that space? Inclusiveness is for the forum as a whole, not a specific language section.
The account is not shared. Most current players are associated with the international version, and will stick on with it. The Chinese version is heavily harmonized to the extent that many people won’t play it.
this only shows that you did heavy grind in that event. probably in team. lots of other people either dont grind that much, or they are playing solo.
i would like to see statistics from devs about actual number of spanish, french, german, italian and chinese players. easily done with looking up IP from log in. i would say that there are lot more spanish speaking players than chinese, but they are not getting separate forum section.
