Most are war criminals, as well as people hated in some countries. That’s why the portraits of Yamamoto and Rommel couldn’t make it into the enlisted.
But I don’t see a problem with adding Paulus.

I hate neither. Both were very intelligent and effective commanders of their respective countries. Bradley Crews in Iraq had a picture of Rommel or Patton on the inside of their vehicles while i was there. Pretty cool to see.

All German/Axis generals are seen as war criminals whether they stood trial or not. Same applies to fighter aces etc … so I doubt Gajin will allow any for either Japan or Germany.

But they were rejected, why not add exactly Paulus. This man managed to achieve a high position in Germany, but made every effort to solve the crimes of the Nazis. In my opinion this is really a man whose portrait can be added to the game.

I just want to have sides of the conflict represented more or less equally. Rommel is too “evil” but zhukov is fine? Either give us both or remove both. Applies to everybody. Same number of generals, decals etc for everybody without some BS about “evil”.

as much i’m against censorship and what not.
i’m afraid that’s another ship that sailed ( but double standards are allowed )
so, as far as it goes,
the only way i see to make profiles interesting, would be though a new system where you spend, dunno, 50 callsigns for a portrait of one of your soldier based on your preferences or vehicle. keeping in mind camofulages / cosmetics with perhaps the cartoonish filter.
or… make random similar to coh3 ones:

because i doubt we’ll get the ones that we used to have ( or saw for a brief time )

Rommel simply did not live to see Nuremberg to be exonerated like Paulus.
That’s just why there are difficulties in adding him, it has already been written about. With the Japanese it’s even more complicated, there is a feeling that there were no adequate people there at all and everyone really believed in the god of the emperor, god, literally Warhammer.
