I wanted to give some feedback on my recent experiences as a pilot in Enlisted.
First of all. The gunsights in all of the planes I have flown so far need their brightness dialled up significantly.
Against a blue sky they are practically invisible and not at all accurately portrayed.
There is something wrong with the flight model of the P-51 C and P-51 D. I bought the gold order P-51 D for Normandy and it is unflyable in direct mode with a flightstick due to the plane pitching up and down randomly. Please fix this so I can fly this beauty.
The hispano cannons on the tempest need to be looked at. As of now they feel closer to 50.cal or weaker.
One to three second bursts should be enough to down a fighter easily but I often spend half my ammo just to damage them enough to force a bail out. Wings should be flying off planes hit by four hispanos, and I have yet to see this happen. They seem to lack any and all explosive power?
I feel there should be a penalty to players using planes to suicide bomb/rocket attack. Players that commit suicide in planes should get a lockout timer during that round to discourage this behaviour. I have seen players topping the leaderboard by simply spawning in a plane, suicide attack, spawn another plane, repeat.
Thatās all I have for now.
Thanks for the awesome game and keep up the great work.
Yeah, gunsights need to be fixed and something should be done about the kamikaze players. They fixed plane damage models and patched netcode to try and prevent desync a few updates ago, however the netcode is still not perfect and you still get instances of desync. As for the flight stick, I donāt think they ever fully implemented that so Iām not sure how to help you here.
I can confirm to you that it isnāt an issue of trimming. Every other plane besides the ones I mentioned fly perfectly fine with a flightstick. The problem is that there is some sort of phantom input going on in direct mode. Try plugging in a controller and putting it into direct mode and you will see what I mean.
I think this has something to do with temporary resolution thing that canāt be turned off for some reason. Also with certain settings it becomes a whole lot worse.
That being said, the reticle must be clearly visible no matter what settings the player is using. WT is using the same engine (and possibly the same vehicle models) and there is no such problem there.
Thatās interesting. As I have been able to map both my flight stick and rudder pedals. Then switching it to direct control mode. As I stated all of the planes I have flown so far with this setup (which is rather a few now) have been fine. Itās just the P-51 D giving me trouble.
Iāve flown a few planes with stick and pedals in this game and they all had really odd quirks to them. It may have been patched a while ago, but I stopped using stick and pedals for that exact reason. Keyboard and controller work fine for me regardless of the plane though.
I still find them to be considerably underpowered compared to other 20mm planes. Hell, even the P38-J with its single 20mm can take down a bomber better than the Tempest.
Having spent most of the day flying US over Normandy, I can confirm that 50.s definitely do better than the Hispanos. I am able to take out 109s and 110s with single passes with the 50.s.
With the hispanos itās taking me 2-3 runs average. Hell, I can even kill enemy planes quick with the A-20 G
This isnāt really acceptable considering the plane cost 50 bucks.
I ALWAYS try to land safely if possible personally, and for such there is a little bonus. However, it really irritates the crap out of me when I see someone take an attack plane just to make one pass and crash it straight into the ground. Often times Iām getting screwed out of using the attack plane just because of how many idiots are grabbing it just to do this very thing. Often we lose just because of how many tickets they burn by doing this!
The other thing that I have noticed a lot though, is both with planes and tanks. People are using them just as assaulter squads but using the vehicle as a taxi! They are wasting a valuable resource just so they can have an additional SMG squad.
I agree, there needs to be some stricter restrictions in regards to vehicles especially planes.
Landing is a good idea, also maybe there should be a withdrawal airspace.
If you withdraw, you will be reimbursed for the 50% tickets you have consumed and will sortie with another squad.
Those who have committed aircraft suicide attacks should have a longer cooldown until the next aircraft is available.
Honestly I think each side should have an āairstripā area. Similar to how Pacific has the carriers. This area could be used for repairs OR to withdraw that squad for a reimbursement of tickets. It should also have AA so that it gives players a way to escape spawn camping fighters.
I agree the suicide attacks should result in longer cooldowns.
I disagree with the ability for aircraft to land and be repaired. It could result in one player occupying an aircraft for an extended period of time, and if a less skilled player occupies an aircraft for too long, it is to the detriment of the team. It reminds me of the old Battlefield series.
My idea is that if an aircraft is damaged or you want to switch to infantry, you move it to a retreat airspace, get a percentage of the ticket refund and sally another squad.
If you want to use the same aircraft squadron, wait for the cooldown. If you succeed in withdrawing, you may receive a bonus to the cooldown.
This is the kind of Hispanos I was hoping to see. I can understand them not making them as powerful as you see in this video. But goddamn, they need to be better than they are now. Several times today I put 3 second bursts into a 109 and it was literally unscathed, it was also the same story with 110s.
My only concern is that it shouldnāt be AIRSPACE that you retreat to. Not getting repaired and returning to the sky, ok fine. HOWEVER, I think the middle ground is the best option.
Players can land at friendly airfield to get some tickets back and switch to another squad. This would qualify as a safe landing like it already does, which means only 1 squad would need to be burned through in order to get the aircraft squad back rather than 2.
Having it as airspace could cause players to fly into it by accident, and also it would take no skill to do. Aircraft needs to be manned by players that take the time to learn to do it well, including landing.
