Almost right
I integrated tropical clothing and desert clothing into summer clothing. And in my understanding, regular clothing is the thin jacket, while winter clothing is thick cotton jackets and hats, and summer clothing is various shorts and short sleeves. But some maps in Stalingrad have already entered winter,it could be difficult to implement
I have saying this ever since they announced the first test server. It is such a small quality of life improvement and still they don’t implement it. On the flip side ever since this recent update half of my customization has been replaced with something which I didn’t buy in the first place.
This has been brought up a few times by now. For the sake of completeness I’ll bring up the two main counterarguments I’ve always seen come up:
Early war uniforms can differ quite a bit to late war uniforms. If there are two theaters set during the same season but at different stages during the war this can lead to some issues. Like Moscow vs. Bulge
Maps like Stalingrad are Winter but not really snow heavy, making the white camo uniforms useless. Whereas white camo is much more useful in Moscow.
Personally I am fine with sacrificing the lack of perfectly period accurate uniforms on the altar of historical accuracy.
But ideally some solution should be found to give players a way to better prepare for specific maps.
Maybe add an option to switch between multiple Winter presets before spawning in with the squad?
That is how it should be, but thanks to USSR chaging its uniforms halfway through the war.
DF won’t do that.
If each country had different uniform system than it would be possible.
Germany and USA: summer, winter, desert, tropical.
Soviet Union: early summer and winter, late summer and winter.
Japan: nothing to change here yet
