I’m connecting from Asia, so it’s anything goes XD Usually I go to NA first, but if it’s such a bad defeat, I’ll switch to EU, or Eastern Europe, to try my luck there. Mostly playing on NA though, even if it is a defeat, the Yanks (like the US team, not American people) are often… overconfident in their usage of Armored vehicles and squad positioning that I can get relatively easy kills.
I think Gavutu in general is just… bad. The whole crossing water thing has always been a problem it seems, and like you said, there’s two of that to cross on this map. Like, I get that it’s the Pacific theater and there’s supposed to be a lot of water, but come on…
well my team (japan) just pulled off a lightning-speed win as the attackers in destruction there.
general formula is to get a boat, speed as close to the enemy spawn as you can, and build a rally point between their spawn and the objectives.
They get bogged down fighting the guys spawning from the rally while the bomb is set.
Also I made an important discovery to the Japanese playstyle.
You can strap TNT to vehicles, drive around without it falling off, and detonate it yet.
you know what that means
That’s an entirely wrong way of putting it. You don’t play as if you’ve already lost, you play as if you don’t have anything left to lose. Reject all fears and doubts, and accept whatever happens next while trying to make the best of what you have. This doesn’t automatically entail “playin like a rat” or anything like that. Just let loose in whatever way suits you.
It’s actually a very healthy attitude if you want to get anything even mildly positive out of games, anything that isn’t born of psychological tricks meant to manipulate you.
Not to sound like a suck up, but that battle was won by you engineers. The first time I died and got to look at how many Rally Points there were had me in tears of joy.
Wish I was in the same match as you after that one; the one we was in was me, my squadmate, another dude and the rest are most likely bots. All using Arisakarbines, all waddling about like a buncha penguins…
Hmm… perhaps you are right. I stand corrected then. Yes, play as if you have nothing to lose.
Bushido moment.
I still have to derive enjoyment from the suffering of the other team though XD
Knowing someone somewhere is fuming cuz they stepped on my land mine for the sixth time, or getting squad wiped by my rifle-grenade…
