A few suggestions on squad orders (tank and engineer)

I will start by saying that I am very pleasantly surprised by this game. Enlisted absolutely has the potential to become my favourite shooter of all time, but as of now, naturally in the early stages of a game, it has a few quirks that need to be addressed. If any of these have been suggested before or are part of the plan for future development already, I apologise for wasting your time.

  1. A Tank Repair Order
It seems rather obvious, but I will explain it. As of now, if a tank sustained light, but immobilising damage, it will obviously need repairing, for which you need to leave the tank. However, as of now the entire squad leaves the tank and takes longer than the player to reenter, will not take proper cover, and usually you will lose at least 1 or 2 crew members to this, if you’re unlucky and there’s a grenade cooked just right when you leave, you lose the whole crew. To change this, I would suggest allowing the player to send out one bot with repair tools to repair while the player, and the rest of the squad, stay safe in the tank and can provide cover fire, if the turret is still operable. That way tracking a tank is still a serious blow, that risks the crew while repairing, but it’s not a weird way to neutralise an entire tank by killing the crew when they repair.

  2. Reworked Build Orders
As of now, in my experience it just doesn’t really work, maybe I’m just kinda dumb. But even if that’s the case I think my suggestions would improve the system. Right now, only the engineer currently equipping the hammer can see and place blueprints. If these haven’t been started to build, they seem to disappear after switching from the hammer (didn’t test that extensively so I might be wrong). Instead, I feel like the player should press a button, for instance B, and be put into the build mode, regardless of which squadmember he is currently controlling and what weapon is in his hand. That way he can place blueprints as build orders and the AI engineer squadmate gets to work. This should only be an option if there is a living engineer squadmate, similar to how an artillery strike is available to any squadmate if there’s a radio operator in the squad.

I am all for tank repair/ leaving only as one soldier, not so sure about enginner. Having to change to hammer and being vulnerable means that you have to think- better option would be if another engineer is alive he would speed up the building process.
btw engineers should change to rifle when you switch soldiers instead of running around with a hammer lol

Just noticed that engineers help ^o^
