As I played Enlisted I realise that I have two creepling addiction: WW2 games, and Lego.
The company Cobi who specialized in the reproduction of WW2 model with “lego” patern bricks have annonced today they have signed a partnership with Company of Hero 3.
Before company of hero there was a partnership with the unfamous World of Tanks.
Picture of the unfamous partnership (I hide it in respect for the Gaijin)
I would buy all the premium in this game for a Partnership between Enlisted/War Thunder and Cobi.
It could be good for buisness!
Of lego, I someday would like to go back, but my obsession was R/c.
So I (before a classic German engine failure) had a flying HE111, and PZ4, Tiger along with many others.
Had to forgo them all later in life to pay off some debt but I do appreciate the modeling on all WW2 stuff.
Lego has officially stated they don’t want to make any real world combat themed kits anymore. I think the last one they did was the Sopwith Camel a few years ago.
Yea.
No real war related model. Lego only make space war ship, star wars or apollo mission model.
That’s why cobi is booming.
More and more adult buy some lego stuff: they got lego as kids, and now they want the 600€ Milenium Falcon, or the death star as adult. Nostalgia and not being shame anymore (as it has became a cultural symbol of the 21 century) are the main reasons.
Lego has now a very low quality in the modeling. Part are good but the model are ugly. They create the “Creator expert” for this new adult customers (like the saturn V, architecture, diorama…) but it’s still rare with no ww2 theme.
Cobi solve this issue by making smooth planes and tanks. The tiger on the picture is maybe the 10th iteration of the redesign, and now it’s amazing.
Some chinese brands try it too but with worst result and below lego quality in casting and modeling.
Parternship is… good for buisness… send this to the marketing department of Gaijin.
(It’s impossible they haven’t contacted yet by Cobi, the partership maybe just didn’t happen)
Cobi sell itself as “historicaly accurate” on ww2 content.
You know who else do the same…?
Odd you mention that…I just happen to be in the process of dusting off my UMX warbirds after a long break. Just ordered some new lipos, charger and glue.
I also built model warbirds too, at age 36. So you are in good company my friend.
Do what makes you happy while you can.
Right on, I’ve been longing to dust off the paints and the modeling glue for sometime now.
But I think its going to be a ship this time around. Probably the Graf Spee if I’m feeling adventerous.
Nice to see I’m not the only one.
I would go RC planes again, but I can’t afford to replace it if I crash it lol.
