2 Soldier class ideas

AMMO BEARER

  • A dedicated ammo carrier would be nice. It takes a few seconds to switch to engineer and setup an ammo box, but with a dedicated ammo carrier, it would take half a second.
  • However, for the ammo carrier to be implemented, the current ammo box may have to be renamed to ammo crate to avoid confusion

Ammo box

  • Used the same way as a medic box and has the same HP as a medic box
  • Can replenish ammo and grenades
  • Its downside is it can only hold a fraction of the classic ammo boxes ammo
  • However, it is better than the classic ammo boxes because it can replenish grenades as well. It can also can be handy to get ammo quickly for your AT Gunners or mortarmen, which the former is the reason why I came up with this idea.

LEADER

  • I really didn’t know what to name this class since the way I see it, the first soldier in your squad lineup is the “leader”, but I’ll just name it as leader as a placeholder. You could also call it a “pioneer” or something like that
  • This idea is taken from the officer role from Hell Let Loose, but if you don’t know, there are things called “outposts”

Outposts

  • In Hell Let Loose, outposts are only limited to your squad. In Enlisted’s context, it would be just yourself. However, I don’t know if this would promote a selfish playstyle, so you might have to open up the outposts to your entire team. But I think the idea of a personal rallying point would be interesting.
  • These outposts, will take quicker to set up than an engineer’s rally points. The “leader” will be able to set up a outpost in one second. However, they will have the same HP and produce the same sound, although the sound will have a smaller radius
  • But why would you want a personal rally point? Well, this rally point can be placed down quickly. Additionally, having an entire team on your rally draws a lot of attention. Also this “outpost” produces less sound.

*The model will just be a radio

Ammo box should be available in the slot for tool and medkits in my opinion , for all classes.

I suggested something similar but different a while back, here it is “Temporary Rally point”.

No, I played enough of BF games to not want any form of grenade resupply. Literary every FPS tries to avoid grenade spam and that’s for a good reason.
Especially since enlisted has tiny objectives and some of them can be cleared with ±4 grenades.

These roles are somewhat redundant, for the development effort.

The ammo box has already been covered, its really splitting hairs at the end of the day, and replenishing grenades is going to cause 2nd order balancing problems.

The leader role with an individual RP is an oxymoronic concept in what is effectively a “SQUAD” based game (irrespective whether you run the whole squad or are a member thereof).

Equally the basic leader load out is effectively available through the assaulter role, which when seeded across the other (non-assault) squads effectively creates the same effect.

Also grenade launcher ammo. Btw same should be done to radiomen supply crate since its quite useless.

Officer…emm. A one-man squad, pistol only, man shape spawn? So how large is the “too close to objectives” area be like? Like spawn? Or apc’s 50m?
