It would still behave worse than rifles so won’t be required to switch to shotguns from a rifle.

It’s still too early for conclusions, but so far this is my first impression since the update dropped.

Surprisingly, I’ve been encountering more packed games than before across my favourite BRs which is BR V for both Soviets and Germany, and BR III for Japan and Allies. Mind you, I play in all servers and select random army, by the way. I think this also helps ‘balance’ the queue in my case. As I haven’t encounter matches where there’s a big disparity gap between both team’s human players.

I like being able to vote maps and currently it has worked wonders for me. (I had to prioritize my points for maps that I truly loathe) For example, in three days I haven’t played Gavutu :pray: so far lmao. But we truly do need more points. I quickly ran out of my points for the Pacific Theater.

The matches have become more intense with non stop explosions and lots of players actively playing the point, including tanks and APCs pushing alongside the infantry. Which is great. Maybe it’s the ‘new update effect’ or perhaps players are staying and fighting harder out of spite. Regardless, it’s working in a way.

I still do not fully agree with the implementation of the desertion penalty and there has to be a better way, maybe something to encourage the player instead of “punishing”. Like a better reward system for those who endure crappy games would be ideal. After all, those few type of players that stay during a game despite knowing the outcome, they are the real unsung heroes of this game. I bet many have won games, and deservedly so, just by staying and fighting when they could’ve just left. Because I’ve certainly had many instances like that. Those players need to be recognized.

And by the way, the new map plays absolutely great so far. It’s a like a much better version of Seelow Heights. It brought a bit of fresh air for the stale Soviet vs Germany matchmaking.

What I like:

  • Available upgrades are finally made more visible :snail: (<- that is a happy snail)

  • Also some minor bugs I reported months ago getting fixed, quite unusual but welcomed :slight_smile:

What I don’t like:

  • Map like/dislike is useless as not a map preference system. I don’t care much for map bans, I wish to be able to determine/change the type/location of the battle I wish to join or avoid on the fly, and let the RNG tell me if I was lucky. (And give me bonuses if I’m open for a wide range of battle types or BRs.)
  • Recently sometimes my bullets take their time, not harming the opponent or harming 1-2 sec delayed. Could be network lag, don’t know.
  • Could not stab the downed opponent with a knife. Attempted continuously for the 8 sec he was downed, succeded when he stood up…
  • just started a game and can’t spawn:

    (fix: either select another squad or wait for timeout, getting kicked and penalized? I almost got the to the second part before noticing the first)

Every 3 matches I desert at least 1. I use a program that I wrote myself which automatically takes a screenshot of the lobby before the match, i.e. before I spawn. Since Darkflow doesn’t give us the option of not having to play against blocked players, which is the whole point of blocking. If any of the opponent teams I have put on the block list in my program, the program gives me a hit and I desert. In the beginning I had problems with the additional symbols when a player had changed them, my program no longer recognized it as a blocked player.

Since the 20% penalties for deserting, this is of course rather bad for me, but if I look at it as a whole, I don’t have that much less experience with it, I already have almost everything in the nations where I play anyway. So I don’t care about the experience I get.

The only funny thing is that on the one hand Darkflow always needs to do events in order to have a certain player base. On the other hand, they don’t care what the community thinks about it because if I skim the forum, not many are happy with the 20% less ExP.

Basically, in my opinion, it’s another step that makes the game less attractive for many players, apart from the content they have to bring in to keep players in the game at all. Sometimes I have the feeling that other games get better over time, but with Darkflow and Enlisted it’s the other way around.

On top of that Darkflow doesn’t get it right even with patches and has been doing so since the last 2 patches. On the first day after the patch I get freezes and lags with a system that can’t get below 120 FPS at full graphical details. Why do we have a test server. To be fair, it was only the first day both times.

Not the place to argue but Enlisted definitely gets better in many parts. E.g. if they could implement a proper map preference system, the merged campaigns would actually be better with the single tech tree. (From which they could split minor nation’s weapons etc., but still better.) But they should also fix the weapon upgrade system, I feel dumb that I still have to look around for which squad to use to get my Garand upgraded after 4 years of playing, maybe it’s not me but the system…

(And yes, one step forward is often accompanied by two steps backward.)

What I feel much better overall compared to years ago:

  • tech tree
  • rally points
  • arty
  • explosive markers (makes explosive spam much more bearable)
  • trying out stuff
  • graphics in some parts, though with floating bales and sandbags, physics makes it quite unrealistic, but overall I like it
  • parkour-style movements are much better, though you currently swim through windows, at least not get stuck on those dreadful 0.5 m fences :slight_smile:
  • bots are actually better, not terminators, fun to kill them for casual players like me, now they’re melee bastards, they operate tanks and build rallies etc - a single player custom match is more fun now
  • maps got much better - more cover, less barbwires we could not dismantle etc.

What still needs care (just the very first few that pops up):

  • map and game mode preference system (as mentioned many times in the forum, sorry but it hurts even after 1.5 years)
  • simpler weapon/squad upgrades and comparisons (should not take many clicks to find out which squad can max out Engi II) - should clean up the mess after the merge
  • squad setup allowing multiple BRs for the same faction (if I’m okay with BR1-3, why am I locked to one of them?)
  • better filters and search options for specific weapons, specific custom game missions etc.
  • mass-replacing weapons should be as simple as typing the AI “replace all rifles with Garand for my current squads” or “equip axes instead of knives, buy if necessary”
  • in-game communication and commending other players who helped the most (I’d commend whoever has more engineering points than me :slight_smile: )
  • baffling:
    • unable to tell my bots to defend the objective when inside it, should be a key shortcut “to the nearest objective”, not to point & press X (or is it me only?) - I press x on the floor so they stay there, then rush to build a rally and I get the “too far” message so have to turn around and press X aiming at the obj marker… Cumbersome.
    • I have shortcut for battle cry and poster but can’t remove all my stray markers or switch to prev soldier with a shortcut
    • often unable to melee kill someone downed
  • bots still get wiped out easily and not following some commands
  • I’d wish to see some attempts to implement a historically believable game mode as well, at the very minimum replacing non-ww2 assets for those opting out of it
  • dev’s communication BEFORE implementing something the wrong way (maybe they communicate with a small fraction of the player base, dunno, but e.g. adding zombie assets to the game does not always suggest so)
  • nerfing stuff instead of limiting its amount yet keeping it powerful (shotgun, AP mine, flamethrower etc)

What will probably never get fixed and I’m sad about:

  • selective explosives - wipes out only one team so carpet bombing the objective needs zero consideration
  • bots :slight_smile: though often bot squads are on par with real players, they still get stuck here and there and select the longest and most dangerous routes and can’t get into the Hill Bunker from under
  • gray zone

What I miss:

  • fun new objectives / battle tasks
  • different kind of events, the pattern got repetitive, and the 20000 XP one is not doable for me most of the time, could be split into 10K parts with 3 days holdover time when I can still do old ones as well

please fix the weapon bug where bots are using the Colt Swartz & “sawoff shotgun” in pistol slot as main weapon …

Make change nationality button also change the wardrobe preset according to selected country as well.

That would be very difficult as default outfits are tied to the squad rather than the soldier

After last update I got a battle like this.

Can you please consider giving them bot opponents with tuned up shooting skills instead if you can’t match groups?

The French delivered weapons to Poland before WW2, in 1920 Poland already got 120 French light tanks to defend the country from a Russian invasion. I believe Chauchat’s were there as well

Where did it throw you? For me it works for now, I think, never got thrown into Stalingrad with IS-2 (although I didn’t play a lot yet)

they did that thing were both squads searched for a game so they can be in the same team making it a group of more than 5 players vs a bunch of randoms like at that point why dont they play custom matches on big action or vs other clans

I fully understand that, but on BR2 this is not a good idea to alienate the playerbase with such stuff.
In our team me as a casual player, a bunch of bot squads I guess, and half the team other real players have absolutely no chance against them, so better to let them play against superhuman bots than to make us stop playing. They’d win even as a 4-stack against us.

Fair would be when such 2x4 case happens and they steamroll first two objectives with barely any tickets lost, to spice up our bots a bit temporarily with better reactions and aiming, so I’m not killed from 3 different directions every time I appear on the battlefield. Ideal would be if bots are selectively good against first 6 players of their team so the worst players in their teams do not suffer.
(As an alternative for a better matchmaking, which may have its challenges in such cases.)

On the positive side the matchmaker seems to balance well, in “Join any” I’m not always put on the losing side, but often being put in the much stronger faction.

Small issue with the new update, unable to choose between different paratrooper loadouts in Custom Matches.

By different loadouts, I mean the different BR loadouts, there’s only BR3 available.

@Euthymia07-live the premium APC from UK / USA does’t have the frontal 12,7mm anymore - pls fix

I took a look at your report, do you know if it only happens on tunisia maps?
Haven’t seen it elsewhere
