You should be able to buy troopers with bronze orders directly

So someone has a problem with me wanting to buy my English teacher a beer… Great

Yeah there’s some random flags going on lately - but back to hte topic…

I did an analysis of what I got for 50 random troop orders - and basically you get a kind-of even distribution across all troop types you have available. Troopers are only 1 (or 2) of 12 (or up to ~20) different types, so you only get 1/12th of your randoms as troopers.

So I DO use silvers for troopers - trooper II’s now - with the added bonus of a lvl 3 or 4 every now and then.

And I send pretty much all lvl 1’s of all types back to reserves - since randoms generally give me plenty of lvl 2’s of all types.

Yeah, I haven’t even played Americans yet for a while because whenever I spend my orders to try and get regular troopers to fill the squad I can’t because I keep getting tank crew. I’ve got 14 tank crew at the moment and not enough troopers to fill my infantry squads. It’s complete Bs.

I wish we could send soldiers to the rear for bronze orders. Maybe for each third one sent back we get one bronze order.
I don’t use vehicles, prefer infantry play, and like some of the others, I have numerous tankers and pilots filling up my reserves. Sending them to the rear seems like I have just wasted my orders. At least getting a little back would not seem such a waste.

I play US side for the most part, by far, and the ONLY infantry unit that I have consistently been lacking for the past few days… or possibly weeks… is trooper. I need to set up my squads so that there’s as few troopers as possible because I can’t keep up with the demand whenever I unlock a new squad that has one specialty unit and the rest are troopers!

Same lol, for the longest time with axis I burned through 12 bronze orders to try and get regular German troopers since I had almost none besides the starting ones.

There’s just no way I’m going to waste a perfectly good silver order on a trooper. I just think that is such a silly concept. Seems like the ONLY special quality that troopers have is that they can use rifle grenades. Those can be decently handy as long as you’re REALLY accurate with them (seems to be a pretty darn small kill-radius, almost needs a direct hit, at least with the M1 Carbine rifle grenade), but other than the rifle grenades you could give ANY of the rifles available to troopers to basically any specialty soldier besides snipers, assaulters, gunners, tankers, and the pilots.

Engineers, bombers, radio operators, and mortarmen can all use the exact same firearms as troopers except the grenade launchers. The only real differences are that the radio operators have their backpack slots used up by the radio, and the other three have their second weapon slot taken up by their hammer (and engineering equipment), AT weapon, and their mortar. Troopers seem to just be filler soldiers that you replace with specialty troops ASAP. Why on Earth would they be as rare to find as all the other types of soldiers? Just doesn’t make sense.

But hey, Gaijin gives frequent updates and I really think they’re showing that they listen to us. I appreciate their continued development of this game, just not enough to put $30 down on a M1941 squad, ESPECIALLY if the only squad members that can access said M1941 are those who are in that ONE specific squad. I ain’t even mad that it allegedly doesn’t perform much better than the M1 Garand, technically it shouldn’t because the IRL M1941 likely doesn’t perform much better than an IRL M1 Garand. I just want to try it out, use the sights, it might be the first time I’d have ever used an M1941 in a videogame! I’m not paying $30 (on special) or $37.50 (normal price) for the experience… anyhow, back on point, I’m hopeful that they will at some point update the game in a manner that will provide a way to obtain more troopers, which I also think should probably be renamed to riflemen.
