Xp for upgrading APC squad seems very high

Upgrading APC squads takes 5x more battles since rework of requirements?

A while ago, the required xp for upgrading squads was reworked.
Some squads became more easy to upgrade, others less easy.
Depending on how high the Tier was.
Which brings me to the APC squads.
Before the rework, I upgraded the APC squads of USSR and Japan.
I remember it going fast and nice, I believe level 1 was 10 gold only (I dont know the required xp).
But now I’m upgrading the German APC squad and level 1 costs 50 gold.
Yes that is 5 times more than before.
I dont mind grinding but this seems a bit too much.
Upgrading the APC squad will take forever eventhough it is only in Tier 2.

The APC squad has 25 levels to upgrade, level 1 requires 7680 and level 5 is 10390.
If that keeps going up, around level 20 will be about 25000 xp per level…?
Looks like one of those old huge requirements that initiated the rework in the first place.

Leveling the Flamethrower 2 squad is a pain, especially for Japan, I don’t think I’ve ever seen so high XP requirements per level!

if Im not mistaken flamethrower guys are like 17k exp just for the 1 level? thats the reason I never tried that squads lol

I am lucky to have legacy flamethrower squads from normandy. Otherwise i would never use flamers

Yup, it’s a real pain. Imagine leveling such a squad as Japan, with all the open maps, it’s hell.

The only steady source of XP is getting an engineer, that takes three levels though, so roughly 50k XP.

Here I thought I was crazy. Even if I have a 500% XP booster, do good in a match, I still only have like one upgrade point for a squad I used the most in the match. It’s laughable.

Yes, the recent “fix” for squad xp was not a proper fix. Many squads still have ridiculously high level up requirements, but this is an intentional feature of the game now and no longer a bug, so pointless to complain about I guess.

It is fixed, but you misunderstood how the change works: The key word is the “fully” in the sentence … to fully unlock a squad, you’ll need the same amount of “total” experience as any other squad in the same location in the Research tree. You assumed that the “per level” experience is the same, but that’s incorrect. Each squad needs roughly the same amount of “total” experience based on their location in the Research tree. So f.e. if a squad is in Tier 1 and in the 3rd column, it’ll need…

Well, it totally does not.
Like I mentioned, the “fix” made the xp requirement for the APC squad 5 (!!) times higher than before.
The APC squad is only Tier 2 but the requirements are for Tier 4 or 5 or whatever, much too high.

Same here.
I played 7 battles, using boosters, max level soldiers, best max weapons, using only 3 squads in battle.
And I only finished level 4/25.
So about 40 battles required to max this squad?!?! (depending on my results of course)
Insane.

In the same 7 battles I also used the medic squad for the first time, which I have fully maxed out in just 5 battles.
The APC squad is Tier 2 and the medic squad is Tier 1.
The difference is enormous.

How is a new player going to do this in Tier 2? Never.
