WTH is the Tunisia progression?

how to nerf the CAS constant bomb rage atacks:

  • Introduce planes without payload.

i was kinda mad too see it yesterday. but i m glad i can play without constant bomb deaths since i cant flank the bomb…

Once custom lobbies drop I’ll be in the “no plane fairy” lobbies and I’m never leaving.

Did shoot down 2 stuka’s in 1 Hurricane sortie - was delighted the 2nd one appeared straight after got the first one - only 3rd use of Hurricane - it’ll never come out again unless there’s enemy a/c up - but it did shoot them down pretty easy.

i ill probably play 24/7 on the airfield map with diferent campaign squads, just for huge amounts of XP that map gives.

It’s not supposed to be an air combat game - fighter-bomners and other CAS can also shoot down a/c - the scope for a pure fighters is limited so their progression is also limited.

Could be a cunning ploy by Darkflow to get people to buy squad progression of course…

And of course it also screws up reinforcements - fighter pilots take up vast numbers of personnel reinforcement slots, even tho they are pretty much useless and you’ll only ever field one of them (this later with Attacker pilots too, but at least htey aren’t mostly useless).

obviously, but the most obvious hard counter to CAS is either AA or a fighter (both of which are currently sitting at various levels of uselessness but that’s besides the point). Besides, the hurricane can do some light CAS anyway, it has 12 guns making it pretty easy to strafe. Anyway, why should fighters get ground attack? There is literally zero counter to a pair of good pilots in a p47 and p38j. I don’t mind fighters having a couple of 50kg or sth, but I’m not missing them in tunis

Being the most obvious hard counter simply does not make it useful.

You can’t straffe what you can’t see - I have 0 ground kills with the Hurricane despite attacking markers and places where I know there enemy will transit.

There is literally several counters to allied a/c in Normady - the 110 pretty much outmaneuvers the P-47, the 190 certainly does, 109’s are plenty as good as the P-38 - a well handled axis fighter can kill both in a single sortie - had it done to me!

I mean a p38 and a p47 together, good luck handling that with the fw190’s peashooter cannons. I guess efficient MG strafing requires insane map knowledge and luck so it isn’t viable at all, but you can get kills with it if you come in slowly and are lucky enough to spot infantry or the ab41

as for this, I already said that fighters aren’t useful as a counter because the cas aircraft HP is too much (tunisia and moscow seem fine, i don’t airgame berlin so fuck knows about that one)

lol - yeah I guess if you re slow enough to stall when you shoot you might see infantry.

I’ve hit AB41’s with Hurricane and SBD MG’s and they so no damage - you get the “white X” marker is all - which may give you an assist later.

4 games to lvl 9 ? how ? did you fight against frozen bots ? were those 4 matches some epic several hour long fights ? did you just buy lvl-s with gold or do you have some kind of secret super deluxe premium account ? :smiley:

i`m actually always the one complaining about others not building anything, but in those cases at least i can build stuff, but i cant do that here for now.

Ngl i think you’d have to be in outer space before the hurricane stalls no matter how hard I abuse it it never stops running

I got to level 7 on my first game in Tunisia. Granted I had gotten XP bonuses from recent changes, but it is very doable to get to lvl 9 quickly.

Honestly it’s a good call to bring back pure fighters.

Putting explosives on fighters made sense back when fighters and attackers shared slots, but now that they have separate slots, taking their payloads away means that a fighter slot should only be occupied by someone actively hunting enemy planes rather than every plane in the air working together to do nothing but carpet bomb the ground.
