Why is HE damage range so low for small calibers (under 57mm)?

what do you mean?!.

you didn’t liked getting killed through concrete bunkers / houses / everything because of bombs when you were trying to defend a point?

what a liar.

clearly doesn’t know how bombs works.

smh

HE Spam for the win :upside_down_face:

Not really, excluding some wtf moments with tanks.
Prone ofc reduces bombs effiency quite effectively if only bots knew how to use it while being bombed.

Then use infantry

Theres probably better videos of how it was if your intrested.

^ that skill of dropping bombs aproximately to that server.

50kg - 250kg - 500kg differency wasnt that much since each one had little boy effect.

I actually mostly fly on moscow.

How would you know its a lie since you clearly wasnt playing the game back then?

It was, worse than previous AA against infantry.

I guess infantary purist complained to much about camping tanks in normandy and darkflow didnt know how to fix the problem without nerfing large caliber HE (like on a tiger) just completly disregarding that tanks in othere campains with smaller guns would suffer under the blanket nerfs to HE the most. Low caliber HE never was that great but after bouncing was added (which I suspect got made worse in a ninja patch/bugfix some time after its implementation as i dont remember it beeing that bad for a long time) all HE got just worse overall.

yeah, the devs are making so many bad decisions, back in Beta that game was so much better, unpolished… but much better.

now we have:
slower time to kill, way too much bullet deviation and weapons being too inaccurate in general, tanks having 3 times their effective armor rating, handheld AT weapons being stronger than actual AT guns, planes being immortal to small arms fire, AI being braindead, maps being too chaotic.

Its not getting better I feel…

For the most part, shell calibers 50mm and lower don’t have a ton of HE filler for a few reasons. With some exceptions like Minengeschoß, most cannon-fired HE shells have relatively thick shell walls to withstand the force of being fired, reducing the HE filler. The M63 HE shell fired out of the American 37mm cannon only has 39g of TNT filler, for comparison an F1 hand grenade has 60 grams of filler and a Stielhandgranate Model 1924 had a wopping 170g of filler.
