For japanese here i used Hearts of iron 4 meme and rising storm approuch, idk how doversify them they dont have something unique so lest give them passive buff
If someone else whant do another topic for the faction diversification maybe he can try adding something else
which would simply not make things more dynamic, because giving one team a “better option” at doing air combat would simply make aircombat unbalanced, same goes for tanks.
Also, flying in games is in general a very niche thing to do, most players don’t like playing aircraft, so you would have one team with “more access to something people play less” and the other team an easier to understand vehicle type - which also needs a massive overhaul to begin with, playing aircraft is in 90% of the time a waste of tickets, just like tank hunters they are not good enough in supporting the team to be more valuable than playing infantry.

I understood his point, however I disagree with this approach because giving each faction a specific gameplay will not be achieved by completely messing up one unit class so that its not worth it using said class, balance is more important than diversity.
Also it would be very risky to implement such things because the game balance is rather complicated enough to begin with.
Like if you look back at early stages of the game, where there actually was a faction specific balance…
back in the day Soviets had on purpose better SMGs, while Germans had better MGs, effectively meaning that every German player was ONLY using MG squads, while every Soviet player ONLY used Assaulter squads.
Now to be fair, with the nerfs to MG movement dispersion, basically only Assaulters are Meta today on all factions, but you can see how this type of “specialization” isn’t making the game more diverse at all, instead it forces a Meta on the players .
I like the IDEA, just not all of the examples.
I 100% agree with this. I don’t think there should be the additional bonuses to the infantry.
I think the best implementation would be to have a special radio call in per faction, as well as a unique vehicle (according to the new matchmaking system there might be a couple, but only one per “Powerscore level”) that players get as a default squad option when playing on that faction, at that level.
It could be a plane, it could be a tank, hell it could possibly be something else. However, it counts as its own “vehicle type” so only one of them can be out at once, but all the other vehicle slots are not affected.
As far as upgrades go, you can still upgrade yours specifically if you so choose.

Yes to artillery, maybe to tank and plane slots (I just don know wheter five vehicle players are good for the game pace), no to autos for riflemen and so. I for instant would go the approach with Japanese rifles and give factions ans certain soldier classes perk boosts (e.g. Soviet Rifleman has better run speed than other rifleman)
