I think there should be flame troopers in other squads like engineer and assaulter squads. Mortars I’m fine with them being in a unique squad to limit their spam
IMO, flamethrower and mortarman for engineer squad only
This is very likely the case.
Although I guess there is the possibility that they add the ability to add those unit types later on whenever they revisit squad upgrades.
Since reserve upgrades have become obsolete and veteran rewards are still not available, maybe there is a chance that they add special upgrades similar to engineer squads that only mortar or flame squads can get.
Until something like that happens tho (which has just been me speculating on what they can do) I dont see these specialty units being available anywhere else.
Very observant comrade!
Now off to the gulag!
That would work for sure. Im pretty certain in CBT you could add each to different squads. After CBT that went away
I asked the same a few days ago.
I would love to add a flametrooper on an assault squad ngl.
Yeah, I can imagine it… and it would be tight.
So I guess there’s no point in using the artillery or machine gunner squads then?
Everyone talks about mortar spam, but it’s kind of a crapshoot whether you actually hit anything, and usually the fools don’t even die on contact.
Thank you for mentioning “reserve upgrades,” I still don’t understand what is meant by the upgrade that says “increases number of soldiers in reserve.” Where’s this reserve?
Nooooooooe! Long live Stalin. I mean, Malenkov!
It’s all about torching and blazing fools, amirite?
Arty squad has it’s own abilities.
As for guners, good point.
Because I don’t see use in the normal flametrower squad since I can’t pick the map beforehand, I m not gonna waste a squad slot in hopes a cqb map will apear for them to shine.
So, having the option to use them on another squad would be amazing
Yeah, I guess you could say that engineers are also “specialized” as a squad, since you can only create artillery and cannon guns while using the actual Engineer squad itself. Forgot about that.
I feel validated.
Your reserves are in the ‘managing soldiers’ menu where you select your troops for your squads at the very top
Large reserves were useful when soldiers were leveled thru the academy system, so having more soldier slots was helpful in order to level up your soldiers while you waited for things to finish up in the academy which can take hours.
Now due to the new system, which i do like better btw, you level up your soldiers using bronze instead of just rolling for random soldiers and waiting in the academy. But now there is no need to have large reserves due to these changes.
So they are an obsolete upgrade plus there is no added benefit for the +100 that you get from premium either. So it is just something they will eventually need to take a look at.
Gotcha, thanks for the explanation.
I also like a lot of the economy changes they’ve made recently. Now I can finally buy Pistols directly, in stead of having to wait for the “Random weapon generator” bronze wheel to spin in my favor.
I also like the ability to upgrade weapons directly with bronze tokens, instead of having to disassemble several of the same weapon in order to upgrade one of their siblings. It got pretty silly after awhile, especially if you used the random weapon generator to receive the weapons you were just gonna disassemble anyway.
Only problem now is I’m running out of silver orders a lot faster
I love pistols!
I think it comes down to being a balance issue, at least with the flametroopers.
I could see adding in Mortar specialists to the 9 person infantry squads, the mortar in game is thr 50mm so thats their squad level mortar, and it would fit.
What they could do is make the dedicated mortar section the German 80mm mortar, and have the added specialist Mortar team be the 50mm variant.
As for the flametroopers, given how powerful they have become, I can only surmise it is to balance the game. That way we all don’t have rotating flamtroopers constantly in play and ruining the balance when on a cqc map.
It’s a guess, but a decent one given all the recent changes.
