Monte Cassino would be great but idk if this looks like that part of italy
The Alps are partly in Italy btw so technically that would count lol
At the end of the road, it’s quite obvious that the architecture is similar to that of Normandy. To sum up, DF is still using those outdated models to piece things together. Personally, I think this is very likely the Italian Alps, the ones that Emperor Napoleon crossed. This is the new southern front after the North African and Middle Eastern fronts in the European theater of World War II ended. The birthplace of Rome, the bald head of the West! Mussolini’s hometown! After all, it’s already been five years. If they were to come out with something about Normandy or Berlin again, it would be too repetitive.
I really want Monte Cassino, it looks like it would make a great Invasion map lol
The terrain looks like manchuria

but agree the Fachwerk is inconclusive. That model could be from Berlin area
I think:
Likely:
- Carpathia (Slovakia or Rumania)
- Alps (Austria, northern Italy or Southern Germany)
- Manchuria (only the building it a bit strange)
Maybe:
- Chechia
- Sicily
- Greece
I dont think so but you never now:
- Caucasus (a little bit to much out there, don’t think they would add this)
- Karalia (bit to much summer vibes in the picture)
- Northern France (already has many maps, would be strange, but landscape fits pretty well)
Note by the way the the last two maps have been Walt and Burma, while reworks have been Tunesia and Seelow Hights map with the bridge. So, all things considered, there is no real factions that has been left out recently. So, I dont think that influences anything. However, Japs and Soviets are less popular than Germans and US, so that might mean Manchuria is less likely.
Im hoping against hope its Manchuria. If they keep fking Japan players (and the playerbase cant grow without more maps) than they are really disconnected from the game.
Edit: if its not Manchuria , its prob Karelia
Yeah, I hope Manchuria too, hopefully with some extra weapons for Japan as well (BRIII AT, BRIV/BRV Mortar, BRV AR, etc)
The houses are western europe style not Karelian. But the nature does indeed look very similar. If it is Karelia i hope we get Finnish premium squad kinda like we got Chinese with Burma
Need Sicily and Crimea
![]()
Crimean front would actually be epic.
I want all of Italy, eventually, but I too would start with Sicily, probably an inland mountainy/hilly map rather than another naval invasion.

I sent the picture to a professor at my college
Love it, consulting tree experts, now we need a Geologist ![]()
Manchuria would go hard ngl
Ok but thats assuming the devs know botany and as a botany nerd that plays videogames I constantly have to ignore foliage in games due to inaccuracies lol. Red Dead is the only game Ive ever played with accurate plant species
I’m thinking Carpathian mountains. If not, maybe the Alps. Which it would explain that building’s arquitecture back there, unless it’s just a placeholder. When I think of Manchuria I think of grassland terrain and some hills. I know there’s also mountainous regions there, but I really dont think this would be Manchuria.
At the end of the day, whatever it is. I just want a new map. That’s it.
Well Im split on the matter, for one:
It could be in northern China though we should be suspicious of the fact that we are getting Italian winter uniforms.
BUT Major said:
It’ll be one of the standout features of our next major update - and it’s something you’ve all been eagerly awaiting! We’ve already held several internal playtests to explore its various areas and gather feedback.
we been eagerly waiting for? - This sounds awfully like Manchuria.
Anyway Im happy to have any of these two campaigns really.
It might be alps. It would explain british and italian customization reworks. The building also fits in the region
But isnt the picture set during the summer?
Why add winter clothes for summer campaign? ![]()
I watched Major’s 2.5 hrs livestream on twitch yesterday, but no clue was given about the location.
My first guess was the Alps.
The mountains, trees and the house, all seem east/south European.
I was thinking…maybe the Eagle’s nest in Obersalzberg, Germany?
Also, Bavaria comes in my mind:
However, there would be more trees and more forest-like.
The grass on the left and right sides is not green but yellow, indicating drought and summer temperatures.
So it could be more south than Germany.
