Weakspots of IL2

In moscow I have upgraded my IL-2 fully, and there is nothing that cannot outmanover it if htey actualy try.

And you can’t use flaps anyway - they have taken the combat flap setting away and it now only has landing flaps - use those and you jsut stall out in 10 seconds.

it is entirely possible to have better situational awareness than a more manouverable aircraft and thus an advantage over it because you turn the right way and they turn the wrong way, especially when you lose sight of your opponent.

But if it is a straight fight using simple manouvers (eg nothing much more than basic scissors, turns and loops) and you are getting the advantage on them then they are not “proper pilots” at all… and you are deluding yourself with illusions of adequacy by thinking they are!!

Call this rubbish asw SB-2 are easy to out turn then an IL-2 which ive seen almost from standing still in the air manage to turn straight up then do an sideflip like it had all the energy in the world

Here is another as my plane struggle to lead in with it not crossing over ahead cuz of speed. Its like IL2 that has all that armor has so much better gliding ability then an Fighter that should be much lighter. The guy was also packing with rockets which should make him heavier.

Sure not my best performance when comes to shooting and flying but i was rly tired after an long day of gaming with little sleep and frustrated tailing that IL-2 as i had to pepper him a lot of times even if he was already hurt from past engagement. One hit to my tail like i hit his my plane wouldnt be able to move like he did. Thats the difference…
To add, sure i was hvy asw cuz of the bombs

And right there you show that you know the problem - you are going too fast for the intercept - perfectly reasonable reason why you can’t get onto him - but still you choose to assign it to some mythical ability of the IL-2.

Not interested in this sort of drivel any more - you are lying to yourself.

Know the problem ? If two planes are at the same speed and one is ligher then the other (and have better maneuverability without loosing energy) which is much heavier. Which one do you then think can climb the best ? Yes you guessed it the IL2. Idk how many times ive been right behind an IL2 at the same speed and height and still it could climb like nothing and i had struggled to follow even without bombs which i usually drop for dogfights…But here he was allready hurt from past engagement which i thought i didnt had to

Il2 is also to add the only plane ive seen taking an full clip of AA and still can fly like no tomorrow

how you use different MG’s?

oh nwm found it out thats a game changer even not realizing it.

I’m really not sure if its actually me with illusions of grandeur judging by your overbearing behavior here so far. My personal experience in discussions is that people who already enter one with “Rubbish” rarely lived up to back that personal view with proper arguments but were rather just full of themselves - otherwise they wouldnt have to enter a discussion this way in the first place.

Lets pin it down a very simple argument: The IL-2 should be a flying brick. In the game it’s an surprisingly proper turnfighter, if not a physics defying UFO.

In reality the Il-2 had a very large wing that generated a lot of lift and when it was carrying no load it had reasonable manouverability for an aircraft of its size and weight, but it would rapidly lose energy if pout into multiple tight manouvers.

The Stuka has a simlar basis - relatively large wing for load carrying that confers some advantages when the load is not being carried - but insufficient power to carry out any majort manouvers for very long.

In Enlisted the Il-2 (in both Moscow and Berlin) behaves in exactly that manner for me as a pilot. Dunno about he Stuka - haven’t flown one yet.

If you are unable to keep up with the limted manouverability the Il-2 does have then that is down to you.
