Currently flame troopers are the worst type of soldiers even though they’re the coolest ones. So I’m going to throw a few ideas on how to buff them.
Number 1
Make flamethrowers insta kill
If you get touch by burning fuel you aren’t going to put it out by simply patting your hands. If you get touched by a flamethrowers flame you should die right there with a little animation as well.
Number 2
Fix the flame hitboxes
Currently flame hitboxes are super buggy. Sometimes you won’t be near a flame but you’ll catch on fire and sometimes you can be standing in a flame and you won’t catch fire. By fixing flame hitboxes it would just it more enjoyable.
Number 3
Make so flametroopers can be equipped in most squads.
Flametroopers are only available in one squad, making them near useless. By allowing in all squads except engineer and sniper squads they would be much more flexible.

Fix how bots react to flamethrowers
Bots kinda react to flamethrowers as machine guns. The more you fire a gun without stopping, the more accurately the shoot at you and more bots fire at you. Since every time a bit of your fuel is “fired” the bots target you more and more. I think that bots should instead fire at you more but be less accurate because they are “scared”
The crybabies will cry eternally. Flamethrower then will have to be removed or else the game will face to loss about 100 crybabies. But only if the crybabies have actually anything else to play, else they will stick around.
Usually Flamethrowers were part of Pioneer brigades within Wehrmacht at least, or better say Sturmpioniere.
Every time I see a flamethrower, I know I can survive getting hosed down so I just spray in the direction of the guy and it kills them before they kill me almost every single time.
As for the the flame itself… it is lethal enough already so making it instant kill weapon would be overbuffing it to absurdity. I don´t see how it is possible to balance flamethrower if even getting close to the burning ground is going to get you instant killed.
Instead, just not allow targets that are already burning to shoot back… problem solved.

I would like a Number 2 large, a number 3 with extra dip, and a number four deluxe. Also, combat engineers/pioneers were the ones that usually operated flamethrowers, so it makes more sense for them to be in engineer squads than not.
so meaning pioneer squads get ONE flamer, while the flamer squad can get 3, for those who reaaaally like flamethrowers, besides that, i wouldnt change the damage at all, instead increase its range a bit.
Definitely the most annoying thing in the game is when you flank as flametrooper just to get 180 beamed in the face by a room full of bots. Try to get the vitality perk on your flametroopers, should help a tad.
