Ways of changing matchmaking system

as much I’M fine with it,

fairly sure the majority isn’t.

that’s a nice question.

i’m afraid when it will be ready.

i doubt that will happen, but i fear that’s exactely when is gonna happen.

around the end of the year.

if i have to speculate, probably after the event.

so that they can somewhat work on that, while bug fixing the game whenever possible.

which… i just hope it’s not sooner than later.

part of me want new stuff, and the new merge, but we all saw in the past rush things what leads to.

ah i see.

makes sense.

although, you didn’t really suggested something about it.

which, i don’t blain you. that’s such a discussed topic with little solutions because there aren’t really many.

it all boils down to:

let the players use whatever they want type of mind,

and use restrictions / point system that people should earn to use those said powerfull squad other type of mind.

err…

outside the fact that there won’t be levels, so you will have to define the whole new " level " thing.

because it’s going to be in tiers. and as far as we know, there are 5 tiers

primitive weapons, / primitive weapons II / weapons III / Better weapons IV and god tier weapons V

( an oversimplication from me )
which, then, those dives into battle ratins.

for example, in the tier I, there are separated brs, meaning that you will potentially use early equipment from tier one, and face people with equipment of late tier one / starter tier 2.

depending, once again on the br.

similar to how war thunder works. uptiers, downtiers but not outright tiers I against III /IV and what not.

which on top of that, there won’t campaigns either.

and lastly, i personally would love to earn something while playing late gears and what not, i’m all for pves.

but with this… theoritical system, i wouldn’t really be able to do.

as, pves are more for ““relaxed”” games or, playing the game regularly in a realistic manner without having to face all the shenenigans from multiplayer that some individual ( somewhat like me ) don’t like.

explosive spams, full auto weapons etc after 5/7 hours of work.
i’d rather go in pves.

All these suggestions are based on the assumption that merger is not anywhere near, Like a year or two or just abandoned. And what can be done before that

but it’s kinda unnecessary.

it would just be a short term solution

beside,
they ain’t gonna take a year just for a tech tree system.

This is partly the fault of the developers for adding the King Tiger only in Berlin and not Normandy where its a copy paste from early unlock Panther from Berlin alongside the fault of the playerbase specifically Germany mains, meta players and those who just want to get new stuff flock to Berlin on the German side to unlock the cool stuff before the merge(has been a problem since the announcement with players pressured to grind Berlin for best German weapons).

As for IS-2 vs Tiger

Not all IS-2 drivers know where to shoot on King Tiger to the point that I called out an IS-2 driver near the bridge for being an idiot because of not shooting King Tiger that I shot myself.

3, 4 and 5 I agree.

1 and 2 is a playerbase problem

6, yeah PVE mode would’ve been great to grind new squads or test new tactics and playstyles.

As mentionned previously, there will be battle ratings with the merge, so players will fight each other with similar equipment, using the join any team button will give you a nice XP bonus as well.

So, first off, I’m going to point out that numerous of your suggestion contradict themselves.

Secondly,

I find it kind of funny that in the comments of this post you were against the exact thing you are asking for now, but I digress.

This post I am linking is STILL the most fair way to go about it.

NOT stronger AI, not giving a win bonus to a losing team just because they fought hard, etc.

The merge (whenever they finally implement it) is going to solve this issue.

Personally, I think this is the bare minimum a matchmaker should do. Why do you think people would be against it?

I would argue that most people want an evenly matched fight, even if they have to wait a little longer for it; and those that don’t would be fine with a match against bots.

you can take a look around over the forum and see every type of complains about bots left and right.

yes, more or less.

but i think they just want evenly matched fights against equal number of players in each time.

not… one team of players, and the other of bots.

or… few players, and full bots with a team stacked.

which, the merge aims to solve just that ( theorically… in practice, we haven’t seen much beside war thunder. but yeah, both games are different and have different numbers )

beside, people play pvp.

there isn’t much for pve beside customs.
which it’s a shame, but it’s the majority.

But it’s already basically a pve match when it’s so off-balance that there’s a whole team vs a few players. It just makes it that much worse for the players on the less populated side.

Forcing players on the more populated side to wait longer and ultimately end up in bot matches could help promote more people changing sides to get into better matches.

it kinda is.

but i don’t see really many people praising it to have bots.

do you?

dunno about about that.

i highly doubt it.

especially since many people grinded only one faction, and wants to play that faction.

they don’t really go out of their way to grind another.

which, thankfully, devs hinted that they are implementing about giving xps for those who ticks the join random side battle:

so that’s a beginning.

gotta see if it’s actually gonna be worth-a-while

but… not sure it will “solve” the issue.

as not many people would start from 0 just to regrind a faction for the booster.

maybe yes, maybe not.

i personally would.
even though it doesn’t really benefit me as i have alredy grinded most campaigns.
and… my opinion doesn’t really count as i don’t speak for the majority.

No I see people that want fair even matches, which we don’t have now where the majority of games end up with one side dramatically overmatched.

I don’t have fun in those matches regardless of what side of that ratio I’m on, and I’d wager that the people who do have fun overpowering the other team wouldn’t notice or care if the team was all bots or if there were a few unlucky souls on the losing end.

If players could be confident that they wouldn’t end up overmatched, they would be more likely to play. Again speaking personally: I have no intention or desire to play Berlin again until the matchmaking is fixed; because unbalanced matches are either boring or stressful, but never fun.

pretty much

except… they do.

just like you don’t have fun in those unbalanced matches, others do not have fun facing bots.

it’s… somewhat of a circle.

which, as someone who plays ( and is going through Tunisia as axis )
you don’t really have many options.

and, not to defend the devs, because they sometimes deserve their own slaps, there isn’t much that they can do before that merge.

which i’d recon it’s better if they focus on that front instead of wasting time on a short term solution.

because at the end of the day, you can play customs if you really want to grind a specific faction with actual humans and relatively few bots… or with bots. ( though, you are not gonna earn much if it’s just you and bots )

as the for the campaigns, i’m sorry, but the eco system is also infuenced by players.

why do you think no one is playing berlin allies or tunisia axis?

it’s because of the same players who coward from a fight and leaves as soon they see they have an actual fight in their hands.

the same people who joins axis berlin and tunisia allies to have easy wins. while providing no opposition and in some hilarious cases, even complains about the lack of oppositions in the first place.

so… it’s a 50 50 blaim game.

but we are not here for that.

so… tdrl, either play customs, suffer in the base matchmaking, or start modding.

those three solutions somewhat worked for me. and i admit are not really the best ones.

but we have to give devs time for this merge thingy to even appear.

as, i’d argue long terms plans are better than short term ones.

i’m sorry to hear that our fun of playing current matches is somewhat to an al-time low. but i rather have a steady and well thought out future with multiple matchmakers that will works rather than fix this short term one with little content just to end up in the same place instead of an actual tech tree ( so that people don’t have to grind the same stuff either again )

I’ve never cared about balance whatsoever. I’ve never felt “UGH MY SIDE MUST BE STRONGER THAN THEIR SIDE”. I say it all the time how I like having matches where you see Stuarts and Shermans and Tigers and Panzers all running around the same battle.

The outcome of a match has little to do with what stuff both sides are using and more with the performance of your team.

This game is asymmetrically balanced. The Stg and MP40 and MG 34 have their pros, cons, and roles and the AVS, PPS, and DP 27 have theirs

Most of the MM problems cant be fixed if DF continues to let players decide which side they want to play on.
But changing this would pi** of their entire existing playerbase. Lets hope that Germany and the allies are somewhat even in player numbers post merge or the merge is doomed to fail.

Just hope that long term solution is not that long

Asymetrical balance doesn’t exist in this game either, just take Moscow as example, what asymetric balance you got against Fedorov, any soviet SMG with 71rnd? Fedorov itself is a BR in SMG disguise, can shoot any range and 1 shot people in close range is faster than the MkB42s and 3 times more accurate than them

me-too-me-too-kid

You keep thinking and dreaming about that :joy:.

They still need to fix bugs coming from the beginning of the game and new bugs after every update… Do you really think they’re going to bring the merge after this season pass? Seriously doubt it, if they do that they’ll have to re (re) release the game in some store and it’s going to be review bombed. My guess?? They have no idea how to solve a lot of things and in the meantime they’re creating all these events and such. That’s why they release things nobody asked for and when they do they break the game. Of course time is rushing and chasing them down, so I’d suppose they’ll bring the merge in February or March.
I hope they keep delaying it, so they can focus os FIXING instead of adding and adding without any TESTING

it’s not really thinking or " dreaming " when it’s precisely what they showed that they are working on.

being skeptical it’s fine. but you’re just over that line.

i mean, they keep releasing bug fixes.

so it’s not like they don’t know what to do, or aren’t actively working on it.

but we’ll see.

as it’s just speculation at this point.

I mean, they haven’t shown anything yet, the only thing we might consider a proof is the wall with some info and 2 or 3 images of how the merge and future update might work, but aprat from that nothin else.

Thank God they still try to fix bugs. But at the same time there a lot of bugs stilol without fix, and I’m talking about bugs that have been with us good 7-8 months… I still don’t uderstand which line of thinking they use to fix their game, it’s an “Iluminnati mystery”.

Indeed, everything we might believe it’s just speculation. What we have right now is bugs, broken mechanics and good additions but with some other fuckups. And no info about the “Great Update”.
Don’t get me wrong tho, I’m not attacking them and I’m not a hater, I really like the game and it has amazing mechanics (that no other game has) but the errors, the devs not listening to the community and some other things make me mad.
