Warsaw Uprising event

Since we had an event last year featuring the Soviet Union fighting against the Japanese in the Solomon Islands, I think events based on real historical battles with some modifications should be acceptable.

During the Warsaw Uprising, the resistance fighters received no direct air support from the Allies and had to fight using captured weapons and tanks. This time, however, things would be different, as Polish volunteers fighting alongside the Allies would provide full support for the operation.

This would also give us a stronger justification for adding Polish weapons and squads to the Allied faction.

Additionally, creating the map itself shouldn’t be too difficult, as we could modify existing buildings and structures from the Battle of Berlin maps.

As for the rewards, they could unlock unique squads, weapons and vehicles through the Battle Pass, as in previous events, or by earning 25k score.

However, since the Home Army did not participate in any other battles, the event squads would ultimately be limited to Polish volunteers serving alongside the Soviet and British forces.
Here are the squads and weapons I think would be suitable as event rewards.

America: Panzerfaust 30 (Br3)

A early version of the Panzerfaust, it could penetrate 200 mm of armor. They were captured by the Home Army and the Allies. Unlike the Panzerfaust 60, its effective range is only 30m and has a simple, flip-up metal leaf sight.

Soviet: Błyskawica submachine gun(Br1)

The first Polish-designed submachine gun ever to be really mass-produced(about 700).

Germany: Jagdpanzer 38(t) (Br 4)

America: 1st (Polish) Independent Parachute Brigade with Bipod Suomi(40) (Br3)

This brigade was planned to drop into occupied Poland in order to help liberate the country. However, it was refused by the British. Eventually, the Brigade entered combat when it was dropped during Operation Market Garden.

The weapon they used was an export version of the Suomi. Poland purchased this gun, along with its early 20- and 40-round magazines during the 1930s.

Soviet: Polish 1st Tadeusz Kościuszko Infantry Division with Kubuś(Br2)
The first division of the Polish First Army that formed in 1943. During the Warsaw Uprising, they fought to liberate Praga and later took part in the Battle of Berlin.

The Kubuś was an improvised APC used by the Home Army during the Warsaw Uprising. It was armed with a PIAT mounted on the roof, a K-pattern flamethrower mounted at the front of the fighting compartment, and a DP-27 machine gun positioned beside the driver.

As for their weapons and vehicles during this event, here are my options for both sides.

  • Assaulter: Błyskawica vs MP 28

  • Machine Gunner: wz.1928 vs MG 34

  • AT Gunner: Panzerfaust 30

  • Engineer: wz. 38M vs Gewehr 41
The Home Army will able to build the same structures as American, due to the Warsaw airlift.

  • Flametrooper: K pattern flamethrower vs Flammenwerfer 41

  • Rifles for other soldiers: M91/30 vs Kar 98K

  • Paratrooper: Bipod Suomi (40) vs ZK-383

  • APC: Kubuś vs SdKfz 251

  • Tank: Panther G vs Jagdpanzer 38(t)

  • Fighter pilot: Yak-9T vs Bf 109 G-6
The polish fighter squad is the 1st Fighter Regiment “Warszawa” , it was the first aviation unit of Polish People’s Army formed in 1943.

  • Attacker pilot: Mosquito FB.Mk.VI vs Ju 87 D-5
The squad we use is the No. 305 Polish Bomber Squadron “Ziemia Wielkopolska”, formed in 1940 and took part in the Battle of Normandy.

This would be cool.

Id like to see Polish squads added as F2P Tech Trees.

Certainly Western Allies. Free Polish often just used Commonwealth tech and were instrumental at Tobruk and Monte Cassino.

Unsure about USSR Polish squad, maybe more appropriate as event/premium there?

Well, 200,000 Polish soldiers fought in the battle of Berlin, and some of them were former members of the Home Army. I think it would be a good opportunity for Polish players to take their revenge.

As for the Western Allies, I think adding them as a sub faction would be a good idea, but at least we have to wait until the developers add the Italian campaign or the Battle of France(1940).
