The kv-1 is only immune to explosives with less than 90mm-75mm of penetration (bombs can still kill it). It’s armour value is still the same (not visually) to anything else.
You can test it yourself by shooting the roof of a kv-1 in practice mode with a simple anti-tank rifle.
Once again I ask you to remind DEVs to change the position from Tokyo Arsenal with Type 2a (6.5mm).
It makes no sense that a BR V weapon is available before you can get 2 BR IV weapons which are worse)
That little fix shouldn’t be a huge mess for DEVs
Idk abouth japanese AT guns but soviets could get a 100mm canon because is not garbage like the 122mm reload and have enougth Pen for kill Tigers 2 H and Ho Ris
Issue is that the Tokyo is tied to a squad and these guns are tied to the Assaulter IV squad.
The devs stated that they cant change squads like that for reasons. So you either had to change the starter weapon or unlock weapons before the actual squad with the research tree.
Another issue with it in general is the fact it would disrupt player progress
Almost everytime there is a new thing added in between progression players complained that they had to research it since you have to buy it to progress further in the line, and changing item positions would do exactly that
The TTs need to be reworked but with all the BR changes, like BR3 Axis fighter in Tier 5, but that’s the case whenever something changes BR and would mess up progression quite a lot.
There’s a lot of other things with that problem, vehicles specialy, just look at the Na-To, BR2, and it is after the two only BR3 tanks of Japan, and cost a lot of XP for a BR2 tank
Couldn’t they simply let you continue researching from the point you’ve already reached? When they add new content, it forces players who have made significant progress to first unlock the items that appear earlier in the list; vehicles are particularly expensive too, so it’s not easy to unlock a BR 3 or 4 plane or tank when you first have to unlock and purchase the vehicle introduced in the latest update.
After the last update I don’t see uniforms purchased with gold/cards in my units
thanks for the quick fix ![]()
WarThunder is able to keep the progress when changing stuff in the TechTree lines after changing the BattleRating.
Maybe your DEVs should ask the WarThunder DEVs how it can be done without loosing a process.
It makes no sense that we can unlock a BR 4 bomber before a BR 2 bomber

Or let’s take take Fw 190 A-8 as another example: for that BR 3 plane players have to unlock 5 other planes of an higher BR (BR 4 and 5) to get it

DEVs need to find an acceptable solution for that, because with all these past BR changes and the upcoming one it’s stupid - sorry to say that
And technically the whole TechTree line needs to be “cleaned up”.
That basically means:
- put tanks like Pz. IV J, Pz. IV G and Pz. IV H into one older
- put M4A2 sherman in that already existing folder to the Sherman II + M4A1
In the long run, you’ll keep adding new content (which is a good thing) and adjusting old content (inlcuding the BR’s).
How is anyone supposed to make sense of it all later on—especially new players—when you might be able to research a BR 2 aircraft or tank, followed by some BR 3, 4, and 5 planes / tanks, and then suddenly see BR 2 or 3 vehicles again to research?
War Thunder doesnt have separate squad progession though. Could argue they should remove guns and tanks from squad and make vehicles separate like in WT. Not sure about guns though.
Yeah, I forget that one. But perhaps it could be set up so that individual squads are unlocked upon reaching the tier levels.
Tier 1 = all Tier 1 soldier classes unlocked
Tier 2 = all Tier 2 soldier classes unlocked

I think if we’re cleaning up the TT we need lots of folders, Japan is fine as is but everyone else needs space. Do we really need 3-4 varieties of the Thompson all at the same Tier? The BR III versions should be foldered together, BR IV ones too with other BR IV varients, same with the T-34 and the 1941 and 57mm ones, all valid examples. If it’s a BR II item place all family of items at that BR with it, same for I/III/IV/V. It will folder more, keep the TT clean and allow just enough space to add the remaining WW2 items. This will also go a long way to help rearranging the TT so it’s less tedious for veterans, and easier to understand for new players as well as make space for the gaps that need to be filled that each faction has. We don’t have to folder everything just the areas that are massively suffocating without TT breathing room and/or lacking equipment that is needed in that part of the TT at a minimum.
I feel all squads that stop at rank II (Engineer II for Example should not unlock later then BR III, same for AT gunners) rifleman III by BR III, radio op II by BR III/IV, MG gunners By BR IV, etc. that means shuffling equipment around to make things smoother on progression. Some of these changes exist for one faction and not another already, so it makes this easier to do from the start. Just created a baseline that’s balanced for every nation to unlock items/squads at the same time (same BR) and not faction X gets engineer II at BR III while faction Y gets it at BR II. Then just folder a few of the items to clean up and make space to do this, moving some of the extra “problem spots” for later additions and less work down the road.
The easiest solution to the problem is to return TA SMG to 4 BR. Who asked to move it to 5 BR???
Common sense
