i’m experimenting with officer uniforms.
should i introduce them as well or nah:
i’m… not totally convinced.

Well there are already officer caps, but then again I wouldn’t like to see high-ranking generals being sent into battle like fodder.
Please do, I need to drip out my Germans more so I can arua farm on them soviets turtles.
well no.
Officers are not generals.
( i… can’t replicate generals unlike officers )
That was an exaggeration, what I meant is I don’t want to see 9 officers running side-by-side like fodder
meh.
it’s kinda a thing already
I guess so, even amplified by other wacky cosmetics you can do on tanks…
I guess you have my full support, then (if that even matters)
It does bother me that some of the cosmetics are missing matching camo-patterns. We are missing the ability to buy the jackboots with brown trousers (only gaiters), and additionally some of the helmets are missing a ‘wet’ sheen and look miss-matched when wet.
Fun piece of trivia here about this:
The British armoured formations had a bit of a problem during the war with too-eager officers.
You see, when a tank was kocked out (but the crew survived), the officer of that tank would at times go to a still functional tank and order out one who was below him in rank and then take their position in the tank. They would do this because they wanted to get back into action immediately rather than spend the time to go to a depot and requisition a new tank instead.
This at times led to the very silly situation where, after hours of combat, an entire tank could be found crewed entierly by officers. These tanks were invariably expertly crewed, because of the high veterancy of the officers… but that’s a lot of eggs in one basket, so the practice was understandably forbidden after a while.
It will also be viable for the Battle of Berlin, but above all, it would certainly be better as a special event squad with its own unique uniforms.
That would be amazing; I even tried to put together something similar to what’s available in the game by mixing German and Italian pieces! The Italian trousers look a lot like the German officers’ ones, so when I combined the look with the Heer tunic, the belt buckle, and the map case, the result was really good, in my opinion! It’s a shame those Italian trousers aren’t available in gray, and it would be fantastic if there were a version of this Heer tunic that included binoculars in addition to the map case for that faction!
