yea kinda makes no sense, since it is basically the worst MG in the entire game.
The issue is that it’s given to the Soviets and not the Axis. The Breda will be the most populous Allied MG on Stalingrad because it’s the first one players obtain.
yeah, but better than madsen
madsen was only stuck in reserve warehouse in moscow
The Soviets had the Madsen from when the Russian Empire purchased them though. That is a way easier excuse and more believable to be commonly equipped than a weapon that was looted off Italian soldiers.
that’s more than 30 years before
more unreliable than captured weapons
This game, if you ask me, is soviet bs enough. Also, I don’t think there is a need to cry earlier for such little things. I think the developers have reserved space for certain premium squad options, as well as for trophic weapons (which I think will be more in the Stalingrad campaign in the future).
And? The issue I have is the common occurrence of captured weapons rather than the performance of said weapons. The Breda is captured, not a lend-lease. It will end up the most abundant LMG in the game due to it’s position in the campaign. I would rather have a lend-lease or a Soviet weapon there.
madsen isn’t land-lease or soviet weapon
it used until russian civil war and in ww2, it use as reserve weapon in moscow
it never fire to enemy
I understand what you think, but madsen is more unrealistic weapon for me
If Soviets were to use capture trophy Axis MGs, MG34 is more common than Breda besides captured MP40s being one of the most common use of captured weapons in the Red Army.
PPSH trophy for the Germans should be replaced with a modified captured variant to spice things up a bit. We should instead get a MP717(r) or a MP41(r). Breda is kinda meh as well but im not sure what could replace it. Maybe some landleased American or British mg?
Still could live without the Breda.
i couldn’t ;-;
Well, that is the official story, but the official story also states that the Russians didn’t use Berdan IIs at the start of the war, which well they did. Russian logistics at the beginning of the war was gutter trash, so if there were some in a warehouse in or around Moscow, I would expect some group to have adopted them and used them to fight. It would have been better than doing the Enemy at the Gates thing of every other guy gets a gun.
Quite odd and sad it isn’t there however it should be
The “trophy” weapons shouldn’t be in the normal progression and should be something you can buy for a certain amount of silver orders after you reach a certain level.
Fuck knows mate >w> giving the soviet the Bren MK1 would of made more sense as they were givin it via lend lease from the british.
It was another lend lease weapon.
Would be nice if it was in the cmapgain.
Also to note the stalingrad weapon choices are just odd there is so much that should be there and a few that shouldn’t. Small arms wise the campaign feels unfinished to me.
Also why did they give a PPSH-41 in normal progression to both sides this isn’t fucking red vs blue.
Both sides should have had the stick ppsh before the drum one since the stick one just kind of looks better
MP 717(r) is the captured PPSh-41 without any mods, the 9mm conversion for MP 40 mags is the MP 41(r). But supposedly (developer told me about it on the forum saying there’s a Russian source confirming it) it was used later and in small numbers.
Breda actually was used in Stalingrad both by Itals:
and Soviets:
Personally I’d like to see MP 28 removed, MP 40 moved in its place and Orița M1941 put where the MP 40 now is. The MP 40 would maybe counter the PPD-34/38, and the Orița M1941 would better counter the PPS-42.
That could also work too
I still would like the two shotguns to be a default starting weapon for all classes then the MP40 and PPS-42 available at level 4 instead of 16. Then of course the MP34 would be the starting weapon for germany.
Yea it does it looks a lot more sleek to be honest also Stalingrad is an odd one because now you have full late tier German squads running round with PPSH-41’s AND MP43’s…why did they listen too the cry baby complaining about soviet getting the drum mag smg’s and the fact that Germany didn’t get one…
ahh okay so it may not of actually been used in Stalingrad ?
Supposedly not. Here’s the conversation between me and gromvoiny under the topic Important changes in Stalingrad (Btw @20051767, if you have that source, I’d still be thankful if you shared it ):
1 (gromvoiny):
Again, 9mm conversion didn’t exist until 1944
Text
2 (me):
Could you give some sources for that? I wasn’t able to find anything about when the MP 41(r) was first issued.
3 (gromvoiny):
All that I can find quickly are in Russian so don’t know if they will be helpful for you. But simply put, in Stalingrad we’re going to have Mp-717(r) version, not Mp-41(r).
And that’s basically it. I asked him then about the name (will it be the proper one or the one from the table in the devblog) and told him I can read basic Russian and want to see that source, but he didn’t respond. Sekrit Dokuments must remain sekrit I guess…
