edit: it seems i was wrong… they only built 3200 fedorovs in their run, so it is question of how many were actually even available for winter war.

that which is hard to understand about the balance and not seeing one map only cause someone wants to play with volkssturm weapons.
i wouldnt even have a problem if they put volkssturm weapons on t5 as optional weapons with them seeing only berlin. but with them in mandatory tech tree as t2-t3 weapons i am open to them being on all maps.

As with many things we all draw our lines differently. Like I said I can tolerate Panzers and the Luftwaffe defending the beaches of Normandy for core gameplay, but I’d prefer the defenders aren’t using MP 3008s

and this is the problem. everyone wants their version of the game. and for game most important thing is to have equipment balance so there is relatively fair fight.

I dont the feel the immersion of an M18 Hellcat if it cant even flank, let alone lights in general or the US TD Doctrine.

And thats why you dont make half baked things because then everyone complains why their own half baked definition isnt there or why Germany suffers because the Tiger is not in Moscow despite your vague rules of data.

The devs actually went with a clear definition in their old ad claiming that they only stuff that was in the campaign will be there (at least in the free grind). Obviously they didnt do it and it also has some flaws when it comes to premiums, but as old HA clown this makes more sense than with half-baked “semi-historical”, especially if you want to make a br/ mm, where you need clarity.

The issue is this, we are just on two different sides of the tug of war between historical balance and equipment balance

I like that. IMO The realistic battle comparison is pretty much is hardcade. Mainly just removes HUD and modifies, slows down handling.

There’s no point in trying to make sense to some of these people. They see the situation in purely black and white and disregard or dislike any sort of actual compromise.

You’re basically advertising for a similar feeling the game was advertised with and has released with for a couple years since the CBT. However, they always refer to the same points:

  1. HA/HI players are in the minority, despite there being threads that count over 10, 30, or even over 70 likes, alongside other communities outside the forum who are not please with this disregarding of players.
  2. HA/HI players do not know what they want, despite all we have done is propose different suggestions that we hope will break a middle ground to find a solution (compromise is bad, I guess), yet here we are with the third testing of a arcade merge and people are still not happy with it, though I guess they know what they want while we don’t.
  3. “CuStOm GaMeS” Which are still flawed in the sense of organization, experience gain, event progression, and persistency. All Custom Games is is an excuse to send things the devs don’t want to touch to die (lone fighters) or be in hospice care by the players. If Custom Games can be organized as easily and produce the same benefits as normal matchmaking, then there would be no pushback against the idea.
  4. “Defeats the purpose of the merge”, despite them already going for a BR system now which is added onto the nation queues (which was not entirely different from what we suggested), although separating the equipment where they chronistically make sense is not ok. The main issue brought up before the merge was an idea was the tech tree was split. They could have merged that and added the possibility to queue for multiple campaigns, joining which ever campaign was the fastest to put together, but that’s not a good idea despite there being people who enjoy multiple campaigns and have completed multiple campaigns progression lines.

Overall, they’re dead set with agreeing with whatever the devs put together, which could ultimately kill the game or drive a portion of the player base away since they are removing the appeal of the game, which the development team has advertised it as, and still do through the official website and through content creators and advertisements using certain buzzwords they know will attract the sort of players that enjoy HA/HI games. There is no one to blame for this controversy aside from the department who does the games advertising, and the devs now no longer wanting to listen or cater to a decent portion of its player base.

BR is there for balance
merge is there to unite players from populated & unpopulated campaigns.

Well, it really doesnt take too many games to figure out that this game isnt exactly HA or HI, for me atleast ( This is also one reason why you cant be pleased since each one of you have different view )
So if you stick to game that definitely isnt what you are looking for you cant really blame the devs for that can you ?

Fedorov for example would need what essentially would be considered a nerf. From what I read, Fedorovs were handed out with only 1-3s magazine and was common practice to reload with Stripper clips.

Yet in the process remove the actual appeal of the game and disparage any suggestion that would try to preserve both the appeal of the game alongside simplification of matchmaking. If you guys want balance over accuracy so much, why do we even separate the weapons by nation at this point? Make it like old WW2 FPS games where the Thompson is equivalent in stats to the MP40. Or simply allow any nation to have any weapon.

You have no idea to preserve the feel of immersion in the game? Then instead of fighting back against every suggestion actually listen and try to compromise or concede on things that would result in the betterment of the game for a larger and long-lasting population. The reason why there are “so many different views” as you stated, is because we actually want to try and compromise since the issue isn’t black and white and we understand that the game is a game and not a 1:1 representation to life. It’s the reason that we acknowledge that, that our opinions or suggestions are trashed.

BR is still different queues. There are 5 BRs and 4 nations, which result in 20 Queues (some may overlap). We currently have in the campaign setting 6 campaigns with 2 nations each which end up in 12 Queues, yet we’re the ones adding too many queues, right?

Never implied you work with the devs, but it seems you’d rather suck up to their opinions as law then actually reasonably discuss these matters with nuance.

Quite sure many wont miss that feature and even if they do, you know what ? They can go to custom games and enjoy that fun fun all over again.

a) Doesnt work
b) Makes things just alot worse

Which was one of the points where I said “combine the tech trees” since this system of continuously adding updates of levels per campaign, which added OP weapons for the sake of balance and to keep the game seemingly not dead was not a good idea, and helped get us in this predicament in the first place.

So there will still be at minimum 12 queues (which some people claimed were not enough due to the BR levels overlapping)

You can’t just make unsubstantiated claims of something not working when you haven’t done it. If anything, the merge so far has not worked within the three testings it’s had so far. So my ideas are working a lot better than this merge has.

That’s ironic with how popular the merge is on the forums right now considering how forum staff has to do damage control more actively.

Well, you stated you don’t want the game to improve and last a long time since it would die anyways, so you want whatever you view to be a quick thrill before abandoning it.

That’s because the Germans advantage were their MGs, which is why the focus was more so on MGs for Germans and SMGs for Soviets, although we are three years in with MGs preforming like garbage so it has less to do with the weapons presented and more so with the mechanics surrounding them.

Explain to me how a minimum of 12 queues (based on the system of overlapping they explained) is less than the current 12 queues? Also there would not be a larger playing pool as 12 = 12. If there is a larger playing pool than the game would be unbalanced since it would disregard BRs and just go with nation queues.

Well, Tommy’s Big Action Mode is proof of something being supported by the community that is done and implemented better than what the devs have proposed/done. It is not my fault nor the other players that Custom Games is such an inconvenience to access. The devs would actually need to make Custom Games viable before anyone actually takes that “go to Custom Games” serious.

Also I saw in another thread apparently that one was the “284th post regarding HA” yet we supposedly are a minute part of the community and only consist of “the same 5 individuals”. Maybe you should take off your tinfoil hat and come back to reality.

“Victim attitude” Victim of what? You’re just lashing out insults because you fail to see the value of ensuring a long lifespan of the game. The changes the devs are making are unpopular based on how they chose to implement them. It’s a situation that was better on paper. You guys literally dogpile on any post with a mention of HA or Immersion and still manage to get out liked on most of them.

I can adjust to it. If it’s what it takes to balance and put weapons in the right place then yeah. Just do it to the mkb as well.
