There is still abuse of artillery support

how do you decide who gets to use it?

I agree that the method of calling artillery support in this game is too simple, as if there are satellite-guided artillery, it should not be used in a way beyond visual range, nor should it be abused.
This game should make artillery support more tactical and difficult

Players with high scores have the right to use it. Usually, players with high scores are more experienced. Maybe the player with the first score should be automatically promoted to the team leader and get some special permissions.
In addition, I think the point system can also be referred to. Players accumulate points in battle, and calling artillery support will consume them to prevent abuse

I think a points threshold would be better, would also give more people the chance to use it

in your idea do you still need radio squads to call it?

If You have some ideas for that, or they can rework it somehow i would not mind. I just don’t see any way that would make radio squad worth taking.

We have tactical artillery in form of smoke, yet it’s barely used as it gives 0 score and shares the cooldown with all other artillery types. So yeah it’s not working great right now

Maybe reduce artillery call to 1 per radiomen for match?

Then what’s the point of taking radio squad for any f2p guy/
He get 3 squad slots.
And choose 1 squad that get one artillery use and then squad is just useless, or take radio in other squad and cooldown doesn’t even matter.

Or do You mean 1 per radio operator soldier, in which case i would change nothing still, because you have to wipe radio squad right now to reset 8 min airstrike timer down to 4

Soul Balance Issue

I mean 1 per radio operator per match.
I came up with even better solution: you have 1 call on each radio operator at the start, but to get another one after use you need to kill 3 people with this radio operator.

I don’t think it is necessary, you need to use the binoculars directly to provide coordinates for the artillery.
Professional messenger squads should be more inclined to team assistance, such as calling for smoke bomb mortar support, airdropping supplies, reconnaissance aircraft, etc.

That’s sounds cool

Kinda meh, just drop sniper rifle from sniper in squad, kill 3 bots and back to spamming artillery.

You seem to be trying to find solution based on assuming that artillery is spammed by dude sitting in attic all game and just pressing 5, but he has 2x cooldown so it’s not the case.

In normal 10v10 matches this would change nothing

agree

yes

I’ve asked a million times to need something like this, instead of mindlessly nerfing and removing things

They just need to convert in-game points into soul balance points that can be spent to do things or deploy units.

Some players just don’t like being restricted, they just want to spam mindlessly, and the end result is that these things are overly weakened or even have some import features be removed.

When abuse is described in the title you’re suggesting, the first thing this development team thinks of is nerfing and removing things. Different· from their CRSED team next door, who can adjust the soul cost to limit how often things appear without reducing the drama of special things appearing in the game, because because the exist of the soul cost, special things can be very powerful, but very Expensive and no one abuses it.

Guess what they do when players cry that a heavy machine gun is too powerful? They “The Enlisted” developers removed the wood penetration ability from all guns.

Well the same thing happens with rifle grenades, AA, aerial bombs, grenades, well maybe the upcoming white phosphorous and Molotov cocktails. There have been many players crying out for various abuses cases.

sad story.

yeah, when i suggest limited tickets for players’ vehicles the most common counter-argument is ‘but what if i run out’ or ‘what if the enemy has better vehicles’

well sucks but you ran out of resources, likely because you didn’t play well, it happens, deal with it accordingly. for the second argument, it’s literally the same outcome as if they have better tanks with the current system, so no change there. but it improves spam

i’ve always suggested the ticket thing as a way to get people to stop suicide bombing, however it could make people grey zone camp more with tanks. Solution to this? At risk of repeating myself… remove or heavily reduce the grey zone.

So I suggest they make a reasonable new game mode for this.

Let those spam pewpewpew explosive players keep repeating in their amusement park, I’m not in the mood to play with them.

Were is this artillery abuse? I see only bomber get spammed with bad result for wo spam them

You can reset your bomber cooldown after respawning a new radio squad. :yum:

And? This make bomber spammable not arty

As far i can see wo keep rant about arty is because it lock him from spam bomber

Personally I think the RO squad needs to be reassessed. I’m not saying that it isn’t useful, quite the opposite, its so useful because a single player is needed to operate it, but it can make such a massive impact on the game. In addition, it can be used from complete safety, and not even need access to the open sky like the mortar squad, which brings me to my next point:

  • Mortar squads need a buff, while the RO squads need an overall change (not buff or nerf per se, but some overhauls to their abilities).
  • Mortar nest fortification: Built by engineers in Mortar squad
  • I know some people would say that mortars are worse than RO artillery, however, they require access to the sky, for accurate shots they need teammate support in marking enemies, or a LOT more interaction with the map, have limited ammo.

They also have some select advantages over RO, though it still requires teammates acting as spotters:
They can reach into the greyzone. Especially useful if there is a sniper or something camping there.
It doesn’t show a red circle that all the AI just instinctively run away from. (That red circle is nice as a warning, but in recent months has mostly just served as a way to get AI to run out of cover and stand on its edge, easy to pick off. )
At least with mortars, the AI’s behavior isn’t exploited by its use.
