With the most recent update: regarding soldiers using their handguns, when the enemy is supposedly within a certain proximity:
I saw the update from my Xbox, but cannot find it’s description on the forum (regarding the handguns).
However, I did remember reading this thread, which you can all use as a reference.
Discuss whatever you want. If you have something to contribute towards “this new update”, you can use the samples I have provided to further elaborate on the issue.
If not, this post is for the developers to see and make some adjustments.
An update was introduced, and there is an issue with the new mechanism. It makes no sense for a soldier who has a SMG with a 40 round magazine, to run around with a cheap-ass pistol that is only used when if I survive long enough to run out of primary ammunition.
By running around with a handgun (rather than his SMG), this bot might as well shoot himself in the head because he is going to contribute NOTHING unless I manually take over.
To have the A.I. auto equip their handguns when the enemy comes within a close proximity, ONLY makes sense if the soldier is a sniper with a bolt action rifle. Maybe even a regular rifleman…
Other than that… soldiers who are equipped with semi-auto rifles, SMG’s, and Machine Guns, should be exempt from this mechanism. Because you might as well not even have them in the squad if that’s the gun they are going to run around with.
(Also, I wouldn’t have spent over a hundred bronze weapon tickets for a fully upgraded SMG… to have my soldier use a 1 star handgun instead. What kind of development logic is that?)
The more players/customers who report the SAME issue, the higher the odds “the issue” will be adjusted/fixed.
It’s called teamwork, mi amigo. You might see this post as redundant, but maybe take into consideration that I am supporting other people in this forum who are trying to get the developers to get things fixed. Including you.

I have Adobe Premiere, which is a professional video editing tool that I use for my own business. So I’m able to quickly record bugs with my phone, and convert these samples into an appropriate file size/format that this forum supports.
So for example: Looking forward, if you were to ever submit a topic regarding an issue within the game…
and if I were to find your topic, and read about it… I would have this information to compare and look for, during my own gameplay.
If I were to find what you are talking about, I can record it and easily get a sample to this forum.
The video is FOR YOU, to support the argument you are making.
That’s all it is.
So when people say "im trying to make it about me, they are entirely disregarding the fact that I took time out of my day to do something to support the OP, with the hope to see the game be improved by the development team.
Beyond that… all the arguing, harassing, and endless pissing matches between the forums trolls, are nothing more than a product of insecure people who have nothing constructive to bring to the table. They don’t understand the whole purpose of many of these conversations, is hoping the developers will make this game to the greatest quality that they are able to achieve.
I’m not going to waste my time looking through everybody’s posts to determine whether or not “I can post something of my own, regarding the same issues”.
For example:
-If you have just ONE person reporting an issue (even though many people are experiencing the issue), the developers may not look at the problem as a priority.
-If you have 10-20 people, all reporting the SAME problems. And each person provides screenshots or video examples of these issues occuring while playing the game… the developers will likely move this to a higher priority.
Please do not tell me what to do. You have your ways and I have mine… It’s the wonderful gift of being a free-spirited individual and NOT a blind sheep who conforms to herd-mentality.

I’m not really sure why there are so many negative people here, when we could be working together to create solutions to the problems, and delivering these ideas to DF on-a-silver-platter

It’s not hard to see the big picture, but many trolls on this forum do not seem interested in any of this… and would rather resort to personal insults and conversations that are entirely irrelevant to the game and it’s development.

there was bug submitted on CBR. you only needed to choose category AI and it would show itself on first few results
that bug was acknowledged on CBR and maybe even by devs on forum.
and forum is no longer platform for submitting bugs. that is why there is CBR

most of the problems and solutions you have so generously written are already on forum. this bug was reported on at least 3 places on forum and on CBR. but you just wanna be different so you need to open new topic for everything. ffs you are one of the biggest spammers with new topics around here… and almost every topic is complaining about something that is already known for long time.
I did notice that problem. Half my squad (3/7) have their handgun whenever they feel like it, even at the beginning while so far away. Maybe i’ll just remove handgun cause that’s f***** andi don’t even use them anyway

However there are dozens and hundreds of topics listed in ANY category.
People post about this or that…
Time goes by…
Other people post new topics on different issues…
And all these posts slowly make their way down to the bottom the page,
then the next page…
At some point, these posts become old and stagnant…
If the issue has NOT been resolved, it does not hurt to present a NEW and CURRENT photo/video/or written text, regarding this issue still being withstanding.
Here is a reminder that we (the players) are still experiencing the problem
