Apart from not being historical, it makes the gameplay of both sides turn into a copypaste
I play Soviets to enjoy a weapon like the ppsh41 and Germans to enjoy a weapon like the stg

Bruh, what more do you need for the axis faction in stalingrad ? you got MKb-42, a Captured PPSh, and a downwards recoil MG-42.
But for real im advocating for the StG-44 because the soviets had over 100 thousand of them in real life.

Captured weapons are a real thing, as a matter of fact they were used more often than issued weapons because when you enter foreign land with production factories thousands of kilometers away, the enemies weapon is all you will have.
In stalingrad Germany captured thousands of PPSh-41s and planed to copy it as they realized it was superior, but Hitler said no.
On the way to Berlin the Soviets captured hundreds of thousands of StG-44s and reissued them to well trained troupes. And that’s what inspired the creation of the Avtomat Kalashinkova.
Hell the Italians captured at least 100 thousand Stens and gave it the name “plumbers nightmare or abortion”
Germany also captured the Sten and made close copys of it in the final days of the war.
America captured a whole factory of StG-44s which they then sold to civilians after the war.
Britain also captured MP-40s because they actually worked.
And countries copied enemy weapons:
China copied the M3 grease gun
Finland copied the PPS-43
Germany copied the Sten

MP-43/1 and StG-44 are the same exact gun.
In 1943 Hitler ordered multiple guns be renamed:
MP-43/44 was renamed Sturm Gewehr 44, english: Storm Rifle 44
Karabiner 43 was renamed Gewehr 43, english: Rifle 43
Even if Soviets get an automatic rifle for assaulters in the campaigns we have right now, I would still use PPSh over Fedorov or even STG as OP suggested. Atleast captured panzerfaust is more reasonable due to its obviously better than the bazooka that the Soviets got their hands on through lend lease.
Stalingrad missed the opportunity to introduce captured MP40s as an early level unlock instead of the shitty Breda but Germans get their PPSh besides Kiraly and Mkb. Had to kill such heretics on using the German PPSh.

No, germans used the ppsh cus it could accept 7.62 mauser, a German round. If there wasn’t a steady supply of ammo it could take German troops wouldn’t have used it because it ran through ammo like a fat dude goes through cake, it was also the reason why the Germens opted not to copy it, in their opinion it used way to much ammo for an smg.
Again it ruins the asymmetrical nature of this game to just give countries captured weapons. If you want an stg44 you either
A. Do what Soviet troops had to do IRL to get an stg44, kill a kraut with one and take it (honestly more immersive)
B. Play as the Germans

But the Soviets were smart they would stockpile powerful captured weapons for major counter-offensives and assaults.
Unfortunately the sensitivity i play on makes it hard to control recoil so i just equipped every single one of my soliders with fully upgraded SVT-40s
not quite. stg44/mp44 had very minors updates over mp43. one of which was the possibility to attach a grenade launcher… So minor it’s true they’re ALMOST the same.
But in game, they definitely are not. devs decided the stg44 (found in Normandy) has 50 rof more, and slightly less dispersion and recoil. Now, in game world again only, Soviets already have the Fedorov, which is arguably better than Normandy stg44…
And you want Soviets to have it first, before Berlin Axis? Really sounds unreasonable… Larping as Volks is fun and all, but when Soviets can larp ss (with captured stg44) better than Germs themselves… It’s silly.
Edit: just realized we were talking about mp43 /1… yeah, it’s a mp43 that got converted to stg44 standard. basically same thing. It’s just in game that all stats are different…

The StG-44 is in Berlin for Sniper III it has a removeable ZF4 Scope
Id prefer it if the AS-44 stayed as a premium or gold order only 2 or 3 of each model were made
Use the fedorov is as luxus…one bullet goes straight and injure directly the ennemy…

Yea but Stg-44 for germans 100% will be added as lvl 39-40 unlock, and soviets have nothing else to add for them other than trophy alternatives or prototype AS-44.
Nobody cares, this game has long left any even remotely historical accuracy limitations. Even removed that part from game description some months ago btw. Just check late Moscow levels or rd-44 as good example or where it’s going.
