If you’re in a tank, and hear that, you know I’m coming for you.
Now I’m glad I don’t play with tanks. XD
Thanks.
Tech tree does not rule out realism, nothing prevents them to provide a realistic game mode with battle theaters and only a subset of the TT available for each theatre, and giving us the option to set up our army for each battle theater and each battle rating differently.
Or to have separate presets for them, e.g. I wish I had an attacker preset with smoke and a defender one with AP mines, selectable after I know the game mode. But it’s probably out of question for current limited development model.
Player numbers/ lack of interest.
Thats why the lord gave us at least four squad slots.
Agree with both points (though player numbers did not prevent them from doing actually stupid things before).
Still, having theatre specific presets available on match startup screen would be nice, I’d definitely fill it up with more Italians for Tunisia and more Germans for Moscow.
Well there version dose its basically allowing you have all type of equipment in all theaters. For majority of Japanese players the game was better before the merge after this we need to add all type of prototypes just to be a faction.
I think it’s unrelated to tech tree/merge. The problem is more game balance - if US brings in super powerful stuff that Japan can’t counter that’s a problem with or without merge (just like how Jumbo was in Normandy even before merge). I guess if you’d limit Japanese maps to BR1-BR3 there would be less prototype stuff required.
But it’s really just a guess, I’m just a casual player. And also it’s not something I’d expect to happen in current Enlisted to provide us a historical mode which would be TT + theatre-filtered weapons, technically the same as before - nobody will code it for us.
Not at all before the merge there was no Jumbos in the pacific the US faction was easier to balance against the Japanese faction. After the merge they have given all the heavy equipment that was never used in the pacific and they had to add to Japan all type of prototypes and not the prototypes that where used. The V BR system simply cant give realism and balance. The previous theater system was much better for realism.
Based on how Jumbo was introduced in Normandy I’m 100% sure they would have introduced stronger and stronger stuff to Pacific as well - forcing Japan’s power creep.
And my opinion is still that for those who are happy with “use anything anywhere” gameplay, let them have fun, whereas [with enough players] a more historical battle mode like the pre-merge game mode is perfectly doable with current TT. Basically I agree with you except I think in three years they’d introduce all the fake weaponry regardless of merge, just because they need to add new content.
Pacific is not very tank friendly as you can imagine same was Vietnam tanks where not as useful as they where in European theater the average Sherman was more then enough Jumbo would have been absolutely useless in the pacific. Tanks in general did not play major role in the pacific. Medium Tank M4A1 (76M1) and Hellcat would have been the limit of what US gets against Chi-To and even this is not realistic but would be the end game really for the pacific tank vs tank combat.
How come?
Before the merge iirc all Japan’s equipment was what now is in BR 1-3.
But it was possible to start the game with Arisaka and Ta-Se against Shermans.
Now it’s it’s impossible to meet BR3 when playing as BR1.
It was since you didnt have to face super heavy tanks and it was more focused on planes it was like able to use Otsu Kai on BR II match. Really the pacific before the merge was amazing since the merge in early BRs you need to use only a Zero carrier spawn and now the tanks that they added to the pacific where absolutely not needed. I liked how plane and light armor the pacific was very interesting to play no doom Tuttle playas there was no need of Type Hei or Ho-Ri since they where not needed the US faction also didn’t have super heavy tanks and the planes where balanced against each other.
Before the merge you used Ta Se, Ke Ni, Ha Go, Chi Ha, Ho I, Chi Nu, right? And you didn’t have to face super heavy tanks, just Stuarts and Shermans.
You don’t have to face super heavy tanks now either if you use those tanks, even better – you won’t have to face Shermans when you use BR1 tanks.
And what planes you gonna use ? Now if you dont face the Shermans you will be facing the lightings spam while you are stuck with a Zero and bad ground attackers. In the past you could simply spawn Otsu Kai against them. Not to mention there was no lighting ground attacker in the pacific and the Shermans where the worst thing you can face. Now there is super heavy tanks, UK stuff unbalanced ground attackers. Sorry in the past was much more interesting to play pacific then now and it was with far less equipment then now the old system was so much better for Japan and Italy then the new one.
You probably know there’s not many people who hate the Merge the way it eas done as much as I do, but I still think being able to play Arisaka and Chi Ha BR1 lineup and not be facing Shermans and Garands BR3 is better than pre-Merge “daddy wins” balance system.
Well its not simply now you are facing 2 lightings and a spitfire. Its even worse then the Shermans and the grands. I was ok with the Sherman and the Grand even it was not a big deal and I was playing Chi-Ha and facing them was ok as long as I had strong planes like the Otsu Kai. So US had strong tanks while Japan had strong planes. There was not such lighting spam like now and now you have only 1 plane while in the past you had good option of planes to play now the Otsu Kai is put in BR IV… in a full fantasy BR.
There were no Sherman back in the Pacific campaign. US tanks were not particularly good (not that japanese one were good either).
But I can’t say that playing japanese in that time was fun. Fighting spams of M2 Carbines when you just started with a random collection of arisakas was not fun…
Did they ? I mean sure if you payed for the premium Ki-61 maybe. Otherwise you were stuck with mediocre planes taking of from carriers, which was the same thing for the US.
Well yes but this mediocre planes where good back then since there was not some super strong plane you can face and after you uncloak the otsu was amazing plane now its gutted in BR IV made absolutely useless.
There was a Sherman I think Sherman 105 mm was added with the short gun Chi-Ha it was before the merge. But I was not so far with the allies TT I was playing greyhound and it was actually good in the pacific Or maybe was the M3 Lee I don’t remember what was the allies end game tank but I never had problems with tanks in the pacific.
Came right with the merge.
M13 was overkill to the point it was the main reason why they nerfed .50 cal.
