[Suggestion] Mechanized infantry and light vehicles

Hey guys.

wouldn´t it be great if there was mechanized infantry in enlisted? Squads of infantry that spawn on vehicle spawn points with their own transportantion and maybe a mounted MG?

Maybe you could have a check box on the respawn screen if you want to spawn with vehicle or on foot so you can still use spawn points or make them always vehicle spawn so you have to commit to use them with the vehicle.

Snipers could have bikes, infantry squads could have halftrack, trucks and armored cars.

It would be really cool seeing also light vehicles. AT rifles could be more useful too and other anti light vehicle weapons.

i think it would be great to flank fast, to rush points or to even jump in with a friend manning the MG and doing all that while shooting enemies.

If this vehicles end up having mounted MGs then they should be all vehicles where the gunner is exposed so they regular infantry with out AT can still handle it

I think what we need is a “light” vehicle class separate from tanks/bombers and the like, and we would be able to spawn in vehicles like the halftracks, ex. the M2 vs Sd.Kfz. 250, and M3 vs the Sd.Kfz. 251/1 in the “light” slot. However, such vehicles would need to come with leaving space for a full squad of infantry in the back, or near enough, acting as transport for your team rather than being a full stand-alone squad, as these vehicles could carry 10+ soldiers in the back of them, which would be a bit OP on top of the vehicle itself. We could also see various lighter armored cars be added to this sort of category as well beyond just the halftrack APCs.

But it would be nice to see them. I just don’t think they’d be used much if they were competing with tanks for slots, and would die rather quickly if they were merely just map spawns.

Well, some people like myself and i believe many others don´t like using tanks. I would totally agree to reemplace my vehicle slot with a squad of 6-9 soldiers (engineer or trooper squad size) + a light vehicle for fast deploy.

Its a lot more useful for that game style. It would be a great wild card for when your spawner is destroyed so insted of spawning in base with regular infantry that would be a good moment to use mechanized squads.

The thing is i think they shouldn´t occupy one of the tank slots of your team :thinking:

I wonder if they can work around that.

The idea of a mechanized infantry vehicle acting as a mobile respawn point would be a rather interesting mechanic. It would certainly make them priority targets. That might be enough to put them on par with tanks.

That said, without such, like I said, a “light” vehicle category with APCs and armored cars would probably be the best way to implement such, in my opinion.

mmh i don´t know if vehicles acting as mobile respawn. Maybe is too much. People already complain aobut mobile spawns creating soldiers out of thin air.

Hopefully Gaijin finds a way to implement it.

Like you say, maybe light vehicle squads in a light vehicle slot different from squad and tanks is the best way to go.

Yes please! Having half tracks and trucks would be great for a non op infantry support vehicle and a way to safely get in a good position.

in the past i made a similar suggestion.

but the problem is, maps are too cluncky for these vehicles. and some of them, are not big enough.

lasty, which i hate to say it, but devs are not looking for that at the moment.

keep in mind that this was made before the OBT. we never knew that multiple choises would have been a thing in the tech three nor vehicles such as the opel blitz or even that the puma would have been a starter tank. so i’ts mostly outdated.
but nontheless, still somewhat relevant.

Great idea, it could also be a way to fill out the early and mid part of campaigns, and provide some interesting variation in fights.

They could also potentially be used as mobile AA, which would be really useful against the current bomber spam.

Why though? Mechanized infantry would essentially be mobile MG nests as well as transport between existing points, which is still a benefit with current map sizes, even if not as much of one as it would be with larger maps.

i mean real big shit where we are thrown on the entire thing sand we have more in depth objectives with something more than cap points which would require more coordination and players, i would look for insparation in more sophisticated shooters
