My point is that the game has not lost the ability to attract new players. What might help kill the game is if they are unlucky enough to visit Reddit or this forum to read all the negative comments that experienced players are leaving. It serves no purpose, if you don’t like the grind after you have reached a certain point and no longer enjoy the game, just quit. It hasn’t cost you anything except time. All the complaining is NOT going to change the minds of the decision makers at Gajin/DF, it’s a very very small number of players making a lot of noise and they know this. I’m not defending their decisions, but it is what it is.
Or just simply try to play two campaigns. That should finish new players off real fast
Come on, most new players are going to focus on one faction of a single campaign until they feel comfortable. Not that many people suffer from ADHD. The developer knows that there will be churn and they have designed the game to hook new players. I see lots of people on this forum venting and posturing but I doubt that many will actually quit the game en masse.
a game doesnt simply need to attract new players, but to maintain them as well.
what will happen when in their 30th hour when they haven’t enough silver order to actually recuirt soldiers?
as i said before this is not wt no one is gonna play this bc its revolutionary, more sooner than later this title will be COMPLETELY forgotten and labled as “that game with IA and veichles”, if the f2p ppl dont want to grind this much.
Didn’t I read a comment from you in the last couple of days that you were quitting?
I doubt very much that masses of players will quit, just the comments on this forum support that idea.
In a month, the same people will be here complaining about something else, and on and on.
from playing 30/40 games per day im playing maybe 10, in the best days.
im playing only bc i dont have money for far cry 6 / battlefield 2042 and im bored.
Wow…I enjoy the game and today is Sunday but I’ve played only 2 matches, one of those on a brand new account. By the end of the day I might play one more match. For me it’s just a minor hobby, not an obsession.
for now i dont have important things to do and much more free time than normal, so im gonna enjoy it to the best i can.
I’m confused with the latest update. I can’t seem to get any soldiers unless I have a “silver soldier deployment”. Before the bronze soldier deployment could get you at least a low end soldier. Is this broken?
what do you mean with broken?
My dude, that’s like having the first dose “on the house”. Soon after, you’ll run out of bp rewards that contain silver cards and achievements to complete (or you’ll be unable to complete them, since some of them will be locked behind troops/gear that are unlocked later in the campaign) and you’ll either have to open up your wallet, get stomped or stop playing.
I won’t even mention the amount of mistakes beginners will make (speaking from my own experience) and repairing those mistakes will bear a hefty price.
Also, since you already know how the mechanics of the game work, you see everything with a different set of eyes and it’s almost impossible to recreate the experience a new player has.
What I’m seeing in this forum is that many are focused on “completing” multiple campaigns.
I can’t possibly be alone in actually enjoying the gameplay, no matter what level I’m at.
IMO, the veteran players who are active on this forum are not even close to the typical casual player trying out the game.
If the goal is to max out every faction of every campaign then F2P ain’t gonna cut it,but I’d also think that there is something else going on if you have that much spare time on your hands.
If a person just wants to relax and enjoy shooting weapons in a video game a few matches a day, then F2P is fine……there is no requirement for anyone to grind to max levels
What’s the point of having 4 separate campaigns, other than making grind longer and dividing playerbase.
Casual new player walks in to Normandy allies, play 3 fun matches (maybe lucky), spends his orders, patch with panther6 comes in and axis start stopming as balance is joke. Now he can’t try diffrent campaign to try to have fun, just play one campaign bro, why you adhd??
What’s the logic here?
You expext people to play 3 months, to maybe afford a chcance to play diffrent campaign?
Also maxing campaigns is joke now, as higher tier soldiers are no way possible to level for ftp, squads you unlocked further require 10k exp for first levels, with no premium that’s 50h to make it playable-just the troop number uipgrades.
So just to try and have fun here, you have to be frugal with your orders (i’m sure all the new players will be), play only one campaign, or HAVE FUN playing any other with just 3 man squads. Are You serious?
You just supported my guess that many on this forum want to reach high levels of multiple factions/campaigns as a F2P player. Ain’t gonna happen chief……nor should it.
i might be one of them, i have some campaign sides maxed out currently. and working for other one as we speak.
in 1 or 2 week time i ill probably finish alies on moscow
but its something i wouldnt do, if i didnt had premium or premium squads/slots…
but again, i agree with you, if i didnt have the time i have after a work day to play. i wouldn’t bought premium and such.
donno if interested or not , but right now i m as follows: (press on summary below)
i wouldnt do it if i didnt had time/premium.
and when f2p players will realize this, they will quit.
I played with premium and battlepass for 2 months, didn’t even max allies in normandy, where we were stomping 90% of matches and i was top 3 almost always. Are You serious?
So when a new campaign comes out, you expext only paying players to play? So You have matches filled with bots?
If You are commited to single faction in single campaign, and still need 3 months of playing - and i mean more than a reasonable adult would consider wasting on single games, for at least 2 hours to complete battle task, up to 4.
You reasly think You are then one being reasonable here?
I want to be able to play 3/4 campaigns, just one side would be fine
Still that takes 500 hours.
Why would i spent money on premium here if i can get WHOLE ASS GAME WITH NONE OF THIS GRIND.
Why are You normalizing not having fun.
Maybe bot matches really are your thing, i like commanding squad, but a whole ass team is just boring, and matches like that are not uncommon.
That’s awesome…but I doubt that very many new casual players would get that into the game.
I would gues that I play more than most average casual players….today is Sunday, a day off and I just completed my 3rd match of the day (2 on a brand new F2P account).
I have zero interest and am not driven to invest that much time in a video game, however I do enjoy playing a couple of matches everyday.
I don’t think that I’d be going too far out on a limb to speculate that many people on this forum are….what’s a nice way to put this?…….addicted to video games.
Gajin/DF certainly understand this and likely don’t give opinions given here as being that common in the entire playerbase.
You keep saying that…time will tell.
Gajin/DF executives quite obviously are betting that this is a good business move.
Fair, we will see.
