KV just needs to angle, and you are fucked. Whenever he just needs one shot, real balance.
Angling won’t save vs HEAT. If it’s anything like warthunder anyway
Panzer IV HEATs is not good against angled KVs. HEAT is not really good against angles in general.

HEATs are shit. More tanks is not an answer, if there will be no KV, German tanks will just stomp.
Static Guns, that enemy can see you building is not really an answer vs KV, that is mobile bunker. Especialy when for example 88 is huge as barn and enemy would see you building it from another side of map.

The 50mm PzIIIs were around for Barbarossa though. Not the long 50 though. That came a bit further in.
They’d only see it if you put it in a dumbass spot.
See I’m confused by this. Because in warthunder any of the 75mm shorts panzer lll and lV are very effective vs all targets and rapid fire. It’s been my preferred kv1 killer at that tier for years. Angling doesn’t seem to stop much, goes straight through upper front plate and the flat part right next to turret machine gun port.

And how do you want to hide something like that? If tank won’t see you, infantry will, and they will make some easy kills when you will be building that.

Build it off on a flank, in a treeline, in some bushes, in a garage.
There’s a multitude of places you could put it. AT guns are pretty hard to see and so would an 88 without a gunshield if they give it the same colouring as AT guns.
From what i played it is uterly unreliable. But depends on version, if they would get 1941 version with 100 of armor, then you wont do much to it with those HEATs. 1940 version can be killed by HEATs, but didn’t in test have been 1941 version?

Also I’ll take flak 88 emplacements with and without gunshields. I promise you I’ll make good use of them :). Love field guns

Do you realise how big that gun is? You woudnt get it in those tiny garages we have on Moscow maps, also without a Gun shield it is even more useless as every sniper on even a guy with bolt-action can just kill you easily.
If it would be 1940 version it could work somehow vs Long Barreled Pz III.

Oh I know how big it is. But I’m not talking about setting one up and waiting for enemies to come to me. As you say you would be spotted first. I’m talkn about surprising a position with attention focused else where. Invasion there’s many uses for it and so many angles never visited

You underestimate how incompetent the players are. And if garages are out, that leaves the rest of the places you could put it.
Even the shorter 50mm could pen the T-34’s turret and ring just fine
