[Serious Problem]Allows players to disable the sun flag of the Pacific campaign in settings, due to unforeseen negative political consequences

There is a fundamental difference here, it is not a requirement to add what is prohibited by law, but a requirement to disable what is prohibited by law, which is obviously more reasonable.

Here, The player’s request is not to delete it, but to add an option to disable it and replace it with other textures

This is just a suggestion that has obvious benefits to the development team. If the development team refuses, It would just a potential economic consequence between the seller and the consumer.

As this point I suggest to replace all symbols in the game by the ones in Command & Conquer: Red Alert

@1942786 I agree with Tommy :no_mouth:
KEO, Why not give us this function(replacing the flag in some countries),by giving us a special DLC, then we can choose to use them or not? I also want Nazi flag DLC to make my movie realer, but the Nazi flag and the Rising Sun flag are not allowed in streaming because of censorship:rofl:

Really bad news for us……Why developers ignore nice advice

Well they said it’s hard for Technical Issues. I can;t understand still why but they said so.

Well i think they won’t. As i know, unlike Hakenkreuz there isn’t any Restriction by law for the Rising sun flag, even in china.

And you know, actually Rising sun flag is more close to the Balkenkreuz rather than Harkenkreuz, more like a flag for Military insignias.

This is a Photo of Korean volunteers to join imperial Japanese army while under japanese control.

As you can see in the photo, peoples are more waving an Hinomaru instead of rising sun flag. It’s beacause they were mostly used as military cases.

For those reasons most of korean players I know are against removing those flags actually.

Normally, usage of Rising-sun flag is limited.
In case of Japanese Army, it was a regimental flag: only one is existing in the regiment and very important thing. Because of it, situation when they rise it is limited, and in case of old resident body of flag is not left and only pole is left. Normally, Japanese soldiers rise a sun-mark flag, a national flag of the Empire/State of Japan.

Japanese soldiers after Battle of Nanjing in 1937:

In case of Japanese Navy, it was not precious one alike in the army because it was a consumable item. Army’s one was given from the emperor but Navy’s one is just an ensign and have to replace if it was damaged. Because of it, it was used as ordinary symbol of the navy and naval landing party often rise it. In addition, some naval ground facilities rise it.

Shanghai SNLF’s headquarters

Anyway, it is very strange that rise multiple naval ensign in the hunger. It is used to show it is naval facility and rise inside of it is meaningless. They should rise flag only one to show owner. Have you ever seen the warship rise multiple naval flag?

BTW I have a question why rising sun flag become problem… needless to say but symbol of Empire of Japan and the Japanese army were Sun-mark flag so left-wing activist protest to keep use it for national flag (that’s reason why national flag of Japan was not determined until 1990s), but they didn’t care that they keep use Rising-sun flag as military flag.
Edit: Surely now it have a bad meaning. Infuriatingly some right-wing activists use it as symbol of them and dirt it.

well actually, in Korea we haven’t cared about Rising sun flags or Hinomarus from the 60s until the early 2000s. (not in 45-60s, you know, after the fall of the Japanese Empire) Just after FIFA 2002 it started to be used Politically, mostly for agitation and became an issue.

Korea was recovered in 1945. Sadly, there was no Korea for more than 30 years before 1945

Sad history. Well but right after the Liberation we had a war in 50 to 53 against north ones you know, that made we take less care for japan but more to North Koreans- and Communism things.

For people from countries that experienced imperial japanese invasion and severe extractions and exploitations, that sun flag (sun in the center with red strips) means nothing but as bad as the nazi flag. They both, should be abandoned as representations of facist ideologies.

Not a good idea. If the dev care about it they will remove all the rising sun flag from them game like they did to the odal symbol and panther camo.
I doubt they will care about Chinese player since they have their own version of game.

actually there aren’t such special version as the bureau in charge doesnt approved the pubish of the game in mainland China yet (and probably wont in an unkown period of time).

Well, at least, confusing historical issues aside, it’s a rather strange decoration. Why put multiple naval ensign in the hanger? :upside_down_face:

Even in IJN’s ground force headquarter in Shanghai, they rises one naval ensign. Other flags rise around gate are sun-mark flag and one is larger than naval ensign.

There are Chinese version, you can see many video of it. You are from China you must know it right?

didn’t japan had different two flags for each army and navy? pretty interesting.
and also as I know Japanese Navy and Army were at odds with each other.
