SPN-1 night scope for M91/30 was tested in 1949, for sure this stuff is postwar
they only mounted it on the ppsh41 and aged the image

why? what would you get out of it? considering the night vision equipment required an extra person to carry it. and that the game is bright enough for you to see everything already. why would you ever need this?

The M3 Carbine with night vision optics was used on Okinawa during WW2.
You have this backwards. The .357 Magnum hits harder than the .30 Carbine, especially if fired from a rifle barrel.
Not new ammunition in ww2 .30 carbine had slightly more energy but today .357 hits harder with new ammunition
