there were many great submissions!

I know this isn’t the “proper” thing to say (and I’m not trying to hurt the feelings of the actual winners), but the developers always seem to choose the most basic of screenshots as the winners—EVERY TIME! There, I said out loud what everyone else was thinking, so nobody else has to take the heat but me.

All of the screenshots in your post are a much better representation of what a winning screen shot should look like. But, why should this be any different than anything else the developers do: Nothing!

You need to make your screen shots more boring and basic if you want to win! Your screen shot is next level, and thus cannot be accepted under the current rules.

Graphical user interface? Doesn’t everyone’s computer use GUI these days?
