Replace the FG42 with the STG44 - to make it even with the M2

M1/M2s were converted M1s that were over stamped as you stated. M2s were from the ground up made as M2s. Maybe they did only call them M2s, not certain. I’ve just heard that difference to tell them apart

Yeah, they do have some difference in parts that are not interchangeable. I highly doubt US inventory actually lumped them together, as that would be a logistical nightmare.

Yes, but personally speaking I don’t think there would be another rule(like always). And Russian players don’t care about whether germans have FG42 actually, they have PPD 34/38 in Moscow and PPsh41(in Berlin but not now) which can easily wipe two squads out in the building. And germans also don’t have a counter, so have you ever seen someone complaining about it every day like complaining about FG42 at here? Let alone you would have M1941 Johnson(you can find it in the game folder it’s already finished) as a counter for FG42 and 100 drum Thompson as a counter for MP43 in the future. Just be patient.

Here is my thought:
Replace FG42 with STG44 to counter M2 carbine
Replace Breda Mod. 30 with FG42.

Breda Mod. 30 is not even a common German weapon. I don’t get why Breda is the first gunner weapon of Germans while there is FG42.

Breda Mod. 30 would probably be more common than FG42. So it’s actually the other way around. Why is FG42 able to be equipped by everything despite being super rare?

If you have any sources, please share them. There’s no reason to call it M1/M2, since once the weapon was converted, it was just an M2. The conversion is also not very likely to be very different than a factory M2, since the M2 was designed as an easy conversion of the M1 from the start.

Correct, but converted M2 Carbines also didn’t see service during this time. Battle of the Bulge is the earliest possible time that a converted M2 could see service, as the M2 wasn’t even standardized and accepted for service until October 1944. Any date before that, the weapon was known as ‘T4 Carbine’

What’s wrong with you

Breda was not really more common than FG, and there were none in Normandy. They were used only in Italy, if even there as German soldiers hated them and ammo is not compatible with German guns. It would be logistical nightmare for Germans to use those guns.
