Modularly repairing tanks doesn’t make the game fun, it just makes it annoying
There is no crosshair in this game, but when repairing the gun barrel, you must aim at the gun barrel, otherwise it cannot be repaired.
So when my gun barrel was damaged, I couldn’t repair it immediately because I had to adjust my aiming position many times. A slight deviation would cause the repair to be terminated.
The cruel reality is that you cannot repair tanks leisurely like this, because this is the battlefield and is not a safe rear area.
I mean it’s kind of stupid, you can’t fix it without pointing the crosshair at the barrel
It’s like in reality there will be logistics personnel saying: I can’t repair the tank’s barrel because I can’t find where it is
Then I guess smaler guns should have increased “repair hitbox” so they are easier to repair.
Problem solved (unless they use the same hitbox for damage calculation, then good luck devs).
We just need to see what they let us repair as a non critical damage.
It isnt much if that is just useless stuff like fuel tank and optics but very potent if it includes the breach and turret ring and maybe engine if it isnt on fire. Even though you might make a agument for even extinguishing fire from inside but i doubt it would be permited.
worst part of tank to repair is the gun breach, something you should be able to repair from inside (if not than you would have to remove the turret, than the gun but lets be realistic, we wont get that complex in a game).
you have to sit on your front plate in order to repair the gun breach, if you try to repair from the sides you get cancelled with “module too far” bullsh!t.
Repairing the barrel of a tall tank such as Tiger II is painful and time consuming too.
some modules should have larger repair range because I can only access the gun of T-34-85 on prone on top of the tank.
the worse is the engine which sometimes you can’t reach it, or broken parts that don’t display as broken, but you still get the message and can’t use some part.
