Remove detpack from game

i don’t really understand tankers that camp in the back, but that’s probably because i’m up on the front lines distracting fire from my teammates

In moscow invasion map, theres always a t28 at the northeastern most part of the map taking advantage of it’s many mgs… always. Some pz attempt that as well but are not as successful, their mgs overheating way faster.

You know, most complain because they’re too easy to take out as infantry, from the perspective of infantry.

Alright, I take it that you disagree that it’s laughably easy to take out tanks with explosive packs

So because average tanker is a complete idiot and drives to middle of map & stands still waiting to be blow up we should nerf AT weaponry ?

Then why do you complain about tankers sitting at the edge of the map, getting 200 kills per game?

I dont mind as long as he aint abusing greyzone.
But as they are even in current setup getting easily 200kills theres absolutely no reason to nerf AT weaponry.

This would make tanks OP unless they massively buff the AT weapons. Tanks are in a fine place right now as they can be countered, keep them as they are.

I think that people would start to use Engineers and especially Bombers more. AT rifles are really not that bad when you learn when to shoot.

And which AT weapon is that?

That’s kinda supportive of my “detpacks for troopers only” suggestion which you initially seemed to dislike, so I dunno how to respond to that!

How is Trooper same to Bomber and Engineer?

You understand that you can have 9 troopers in a squad?

You understand that you can’t have 9 engineers or bombers in a squad? Even 6 engineers is too much, but barely anyone uses only 6 eng.

That is a big difference in availability of TNT.

Or another approach other suggested. Remove the TNT which is too versatile and give us some AT grenades that can’t hurt infantry or cant be thrown more than 2 meters.

Then players will decide how to balance their anti tank or infantry grenade capability.

At the end, most of us agree they should be limited SOMEHOW. It’s on the developers to decide if and how.

Your argument doesn’t make sense. You say you think people would use 9 troopers simply to get access to 9 AT grenades, if only troopers had access. That is a stupid argument. People will not run full trooper squads only to access the grenades, like you say in your own post, “AT rifles are really not that bad when you learn when to shoot.”

Giving them to engineers and bombers would keep the AT capabilities completely exclusive to those classes + vehicles - Meaning tanks would be immune to low lvl players (maximum retarded) - A huge buff to tanks which are already powerful. The detpacks being available to troopers is the only solution that makes sense, unless you add another AT weapon for troopers.

Engineer squad is unlocked after two games so I don’t see why is this such a huge issue. And look, this can also be changed. They can put as a start few engineers to default squads with whatever AT grenade to allow new players to fight tanks. In few levels you will unlock them and you can then equip even more of your guys with it. It’s a game, bunch of code and tables that can be changed if necessary.

Bigger issue is that they cant do anything to planes. From tanks you can hide at least, from bombs you cant.

I don’t agree, but you can have your opinion and I can have mine. I am mostly in favor of replacing the deathpack completely as it is too versatile and should be replaced with something else.

AT rifles, sturmpistol, piat, panzerfaust.

I completely agree that they need to add teams that will have ability to use Bazuka and Panzershreck as IRL.

But dedicated teams of lets say 4 people. Not generic “give it to bomber” and every squad has it, but a dedicated AT team.

And AT guns should get more ammo, or be able to resupply.

the only AT weapon you listed that does need a buff is the sturmpistole and to buff it they would need to give it the 80mm of pen it had in real life

I don’t have an innate problem with the shaped charges idea. The cluster grenade is basically what we have now, just with reduced range. Problem is that both of these would buff tanks.

WW2 knowledge is not game design. By reducing overall AT capabilities on map, and requiring close proximity for shaped charges, balance quickly becomes a problem. Tanks are already up there with planes as consistent score leaders - And that’s despite literally every soldier on the field being able to easily destroy them, as things are now.

OP suggested to make tanks useless vs. infantry to compensate, which I think removes their reason to exist, and you didn’t seem on board with removing HE either… So how do you want the tanks nerfed to compensate?
