personally for me, rewards are somewhat worthed.
the cosmetic tickets, some bp unlocks, etc.
which i like and those come handy.
no clue. sad though.
I agree. The balance of the campaigns is so badly off in terms of winrate (based on my own experience at least) that for anyone not intensively masochistic and wanting to rank up should just avoid certain campaign sides (EU normandy allies, for instance).
This is likely just going to end up making the structural issues we have with the campaigns (like EU Normandy Axis being an easy mode) just worse and worse when people connect the dots.
I disagree. Playing with a bots or idiots is not a problem. I type “waste of time” or “useless idiots” and disconnect.
There is no fun if everyone will have a marshall rank.
Agreed. Logically, I don’t care about rank but the completionist in me is annoyed. I’m grinding Berlin Axis a bit and just barely into Moscow Axis and it will force me to ignore rank or I’ll lose my mind. Top of team several times this morning yet I sit at rank 49 having started at 50. Meanwhile I could go to one of the campaigns I’ve completed and join whichever side is popular and stomp my way to Marshall. It really doesn’t make much sense.
same… i dont care about rank, but my OCD is triggered when i have something unfinished in game. ffs even when i play rpg i need to get all side quests before going with the main quest even if the rewards are shitty.
To be fair, its the exact opposite in console only lobbies. Moscow Axis wins out far more often by far. Meanwhile Moscow Allies don’t seem to have a chance most games. I’m not really sure exactly why there is such a massive difference, but there definitely is.
My problem with Moscow nowadays is that many noobs prefer to play Soviet making this a real headache to carry. Right now I play Stalingrad Soviet which is much more manageable than Moscow even though it suffers the same noob problem too along with stackers. Recently besides Stalingrad Soviet, I mostly play Normandy Axis, Pacific Axis and sometimes Tunisia Axis depending on what the BP asked. Maybe later on would start playing Moscow and Berlin again soon once I have a huge buffer without getting demoted or when I get marshal rank with a huge buffer zone allowing me to play what I want without worries.
I don’t disagree that this is rather annoying, but there are 2 major reasons for this and I think its fairly easy to solve.
Its the first listed campaign and the default faction is soviets. A lot of new players don’t bother changing it, just jump right in.
I’ve come across a surprising number of new players (I reach out to offer advice if I see they could use it), that don’t realize you can play the other campaigns without finishing the Moscow campaign! It doesn’t say that you need to anywhere, but then again, it doesn’t tell players that they don’t need to either!
If some players avoid playing with newbies in order to improve their rating and get together with other people who are already at a higher level and have better equipment to beat newbies, that action makes the rating system, which is supposed to manifest the skill of the players, meaningless.
I can understand not wanting to play with newbies, though.
But, there is no honor in the current rating system and it only further unbalances the unbalanced team balance.
I think the mistake in this game is that the rating fluctuation rate is constant no matter which team you play on, even though the player base is skewed.
They should rethink the rewards for winning based on the team’s winning percentage. For example, if the Allied win rate in Normandy is less than 30%, then they should be rewarded 3x for winning with the Allies.
Since the winning percentage of a team changes daily, there should be a mechanism to dynamically change the rewards.
I don’t think the adjustments DF has made this time, increasing the points to become a marshal, will make the rating system healthier.
This also would help the problem. It would help balance teams out so there is far less of an imbalance in teams that lopside the progression of rank.
The rewards aren’t even worth it, and biased pfps at the end definitely not worth it.
rating is meaningless anyways for veteran players… it is just matter of grind and not of a skill. if i dont desert match and get -1 there, only rating i get will be 0 for defeat or 2 for win… and i just need to play enough to get to marshal if i want the rank.
Except that is incorrect. If you are 50 or above (which you will be as a “veteran player”) you lose a point for a defeat. So if you get placed into a horrid team and spawn in after a CP is already lost… well there’s a reasonable chance you’ll lose a point despite your OP veteran skillz.
there is only 0 for defeat for me… you must be doing something wrong… only get -1 point for desertion.
If you are 50 or over in rank then the only way to get 0 if your team loses is if you get a battle hero award. Otherwise you get -1.
if you are in losing team, then it is rather easy to earn award. so you always get 0.
it depends on the campaign, which side and how your team rolls. If one jumps in a tank while you try to play objectives and your team gets stomped but he gets a lot of tank kills you will not get an award. One might jump in a plane and kill 6 tanks while you fight hard to try to defend a point but can’t do it alone. You’ll likely get no award.
you have so many awards that it is really not that difficult to get one. just get 15-20 kills with one soldier and award is almost guaranteed. or you can try killing people with grenades or charging with melee or whatever. usually i get minimum 2-3 awards without even trying.
That’s not true on a team that gets stomped. Just like the stuff you said earlier wasn’t true.
