Reinforcements received: Tunisian paratroopers

Paras are An amazing option, against people that aim into the ground.

They can be, and are, Def a good option, and tactic even against a good opponent, but on a typical room I queue with friends, they useless.

Imo, even tho we/i have lost games where enemy paras took and did deal most of the work.

But speaking on a large picture, I don’t see them as that usefull as a spawn point few meters away the cap area

As for the event, I recommend everyone to get them, they are like a free premium squad. Unique, with unique options around them. Makes 0 sence not to grind for them as a free player… Most likely I m just a bad paratrooper user, or I m yet to unlock their full potential… But I wonder… what can they do, an assaulter squad won’t do even more…

I could easly argue assaulter squads is where the money is… But maybe I’m just used to the way I play

But hey, I too loose games. Alot of them. And still I don’t pinpoint paras as a reason to complain… Most of times I complain about my own skill issue. That only grows as I get older.

Getting shot while dropping from the air is exactly why I prefer to just spawn on a rally point with them.

My favourite moment, is when I paradrop “safely” behind a building, but a smart player that heard the very distinctive paratrooper plane surrounded by flak explosions, and merely looked up, greets me with a simple molotov or his flamethrower…

I’m like “ahah, well played, well played indeed, bast**d!”

happens surprisingly often. I like to do that too (but my style is merely to go prone with an lmg and mow the squad reaching for his crate).

Paras, are fun. really fun. But they are not OP, nor better than a death squad with fg42, stg44, ppsh41, m2 etc.

Most OP thing in game will always be bringing 3 Assault squads or 1 Assault Squad + 2 Flame Trooper Squads (Or 3 Flame Trooper Squads once the merge comes, or even more than 3 if you buy slots. The devs will probably need to implement a restriction on the amount of Class X squads you can bring, otherwise I can see premium players bringing 6 Flame Trooper Squads for German and Soviet faction)

Nasty paratroopers are only those in Normandy with drums and grenade launchers. And I dare to say that even without drops, FG nade launchers and drum squads are still pretty nasty.
Or are the M1A1 and Type 100 in Pacific also OP?

Paratrooper in Normandy for the 100rnd Drum Thompson is essentially a 6 man assault squad without the need to walk to the cap from the spawn…

i find normal squads better in a way that you can actually equip their loadout, but paratroopers better in their usefulness. you need tank destroyed? drop beside or behind him. need rally point? drop where enemy wont look/defend. need fast spawn to second cap when attacking? just drop on it. need to destroy enemy rally points? just drop behind. need to clear objective when objective has roof with holes/glass? drop on the roof and clear enemy from angle they wont expect.

they are extremely useful and i would e.g. use them more on pacific if i wasnt grinding other squads. they are mostly mainstay on my normandy maxed out squads for both sides.

although idk about scenarios of small fire team dropping into active battle, there were whole divisions dropping directly on enemy. e.g. battle of crete and battle of dnieper. both were catastrophic for paratroopers.

you need to play more solo with shit teams. when you have 1 rally point that you built yourself and enemy is quite decent with multiple rally points paratroopers are heaven sent.

i feel you there…

giving them rifles has nerfed them a lot. but even then they are still very useful, specially when you need to build rally point for new cap, or take advantage of the fact that enemy is still on old cap that is 100-150m and divided by river/sea to sneakily cap.

I like paras. Havent been bothered by them.

And as much as HnG paras are my thing, since I cant equip them, I dont end up using them as much as id like. Custom loadouts are just more appealing.

As much as I have been wanting the Folgore and Red Devils, they dont have the loadouts I associate with them :frowning:

I honestly never build rallies with the paras. Pretty much exclusive shock troops for me. Either removing enemy rallies, tanks or risking a near drop.

And on defence im always waiting for the guy that wants to drop straight on point…nom nom nom

Type 100 Japanese paras are possibly the absolute most balanced para squad. The weapons crate is meh, but their stock rifles fit well in Pacific maps, making them just as effective as an infantry squad yet not too strong.

M1A1 us paras on the other hand are heavily reliant on their crate. They can get 3 BARs out of it, but otherwise they’re stuck with a carabine with crappy damage and little ammo. Probably the weakest paras so far overall.
