On the test server the KV 1 has a now internal layout which has notably less ammo as part of its racks going as far as even eliminating an entire rack that was in the back of the turret.

A total of 64 shells are modeled
But the old layout had all the 110 rounds represented.

Having only half the ammo modeled is a clear advantage as this means the critical weakspots are less likely to get you killed.
It would be more fair to give the option of just returning the removed ammo racks aswell so here is my new and improved poll.
What option would be best?
- Reduce the reserve ammo to reflect the model
- Add additional ammo racks instead
- Nothing, ammo racks would only weaken the tank
Now I know why ammo never detonated when I shot the turret sides, even thought modules were shown.
What a nice buff the KV had…

I just want it to be represented as historically accurate as possible
Soviet privileged tanks were everywhere, making it even more difficult for newbies to deal with KV tanks.

Would be nice if hitting its ammo would make it blow up to begin with - KV1 survivability is ridiculous.
I had one of my buddies raging at KV1s in a few matches yesterday, so this might explain why EPs didn’t scratch the tank?
@Euthymia07-live Hello. Do you know if this is an intentional change or bug?
This isn’t a bug this is a change from WT
As this is from WT we cannot do anything about it on the enlisted side, that’s for the WT forum

So you cant just change the reserve ammo then?

Thank you for replying, I didn’t realise assets were still tied into War thunder like that, that must make it interesting to balance vehicles…

But you do realise that this indirectly is a buff to KV1 - which has already problematicly high survivability compared to other BR3 vehicles?

As Euthymia suggests, go on WT forums, ask devs to change it there and it will feedback hopefully.
I dont think that is the appropiate way as the KV for WT probably is just fine but since enlisted is stuck with the old damage models it really isnt a problem for the WT side to deal with but the enlisted side as they never updated the damage models.
So if the enlisted devs cant delegate the implementation of fixes for their own problems then why should the enlisted players go campaign on a forum for a diffrent game to fix a problem that doesnt exist in their game?

So why are the enlisted devs unable to delegate such fixes themselves? If they already just copy paste the latest tank model it is safe to assume that the enlisted devs already have direct communication with the WT devs or they would not have access to the new assets from WT.
Flooding the WT forum with issues not relevant to to WT really cant be the solution especially if this issue is entirely the fault of the enlisted devs for refusing to learn how to modify them themselves.
It is entirely their mess so are the one who should also take care of it aswell.
Given how enlisted used WT tank models since its inception it is baffeling that they dont have their own dedicated tank dev who can work with such asssets.
