Except (if devs ballance enlisted like they ballance war thunder, and that seems to be the case) buffs and nerfs are based on mighty statistics that are collected automatically by the system.
I just finished a game, one sniper was camping in a house and killed half of my team, I had to go into the house to kill him.
in conclusion HMG with 50 caliber (12.7mm) can penetrate around 20 inches of wood (51 cm). now idk bullet difference between WW2 50 cal HMG round and modern 50 cal, but i dont think wooden huts could stop HMG.
also there is one research paper (Radware Bot Manager Captcha) on how much wood planks are needed to stop 7.62. here is conclusion:

Knew this was coming, but wood non-penetrable? thats a bit too much, reduced penetration power is understandable but non-penetration maybe a bit too much of a nerf. But then again with campaigns like Pacific and some maps on Moscow where buildings are made of wood and some points are inside said wooden buildings this may be understandable.
They should have replaced the wood with metal but these devs are much too lazy to do that sadly.

yea they basically disabled penetration all together now, which is hopefully just a temporary solution, yet arguably better than how it was before…
if there was problem in building, they could have put some things there to block the bullets. like stove, fireplace etc. making wood non penetrable for even high caliber makes those cabins heaven for snipers.
I mean, I agree that they probably over did it. But its better for them to over do it than not do anything at all. You shouldnt be able to build an HMG against a building and spray someone on the other side of it lmfao. They can always flip it back a bit and make it so theres some penetration.
Exactly, this is the laziest option they could have gone with but that is the story of the dev team
People knew HMGs were OP in Moscow and purposely abusing it.
well i put together article of how much wood is needed to stop 7.62. they could put reduced damage after going through one wood wall and making bullet useless if it goes through 2-3 walls.
I believe it’s lack of intelligence. You already know the huts are made of paper so act accordingly. Build sand bags and tank trap, dig trenches. There are lots of resources to counter that. High calibre is high calibre period.
So I guess anybody laying down”suppressive fire” not knowing where enemy is, is unskilled. That’s funny coming from someone that play HLL where all you do is fire blindly into bushes, houses, whatever. Because something might be there.

2 Is impossible if they build it in a building, same with 3.
4 Is impossible because the guns don’t die to HE, you have to machine gun the gunner.
1 is the only option but kinda impossible to flank in an open field.
Also they rape tanks way too easily.
I was a backer of HLL and I stopped playing it about a year ago. Yes I know that’s not completely how you play it, but suppressive fire is an aspect of the game.
